Hey all thought I'd find out what you all thought of Dragon Ball Kai.

I don't know if its worth watching.

Is it better then Z

its the same as z, only much better quality and fewer episodes

It's not better than Z in terms of content in my opinion, but in terms of picture quality and sound, it's way better, though I really wish it wasn't so cut and edited it's still a very good watch if you're a fan of DBZ.

you know... I have only watched the comercials on this one... and I have to say after completely watching Z I think Kai is exactly the same episodes. Again that is only based on the comercials that I have seen for it. Might sit down sometime and watch it.

In all Truthfullness about DBZ and DBZK is that they both really stink...I have really tried to get into it and it just isnt happening..But hey,thats just my opinion.For what ever its worth...

Thanks, I think I might watch a few eps. I have DBZ on dvd, and other then the fillers it is quite fun

I just wanted to know how the missing content affects it as a series.

Does it miss out anything important, leaving you a bit confused if you had not watched DBZ?

Well, If its just the fillers that are removed, there should be no damage to story, it could even be enhanced.

But I havn't started watching yet, an example would be the Freiza sage, that had a whole loot of crap that did not need to be there, the fight was 1 entire season

Like the guy above me said. they just took out all of the fillers, but I really liked the fillers for some reason. matter of fact dbz was the only show where I enjoyed all the filler episodes, so for wierdos like me, removing them is a bad thing.

Yeah but it seems that they also improved on the japanese soundtrack as well, I never liked the original jap soundtrack from the original DBZ, but the one in Kai is is a lot better and suites the mood a bit more as well.

I think Dragonball Kai is just a giant tease. The video quality of the show is only strongly apparent in probably one or two short scenes in an episode. The sound for the Dub has improved, but it still doesn't help the fact that I keep hoping they'll just redraw the whole thing and have it look like its opening.

I mean this is what, the third or possibly even fourth remastering of the series? They just need to create all new footage using modern techniques and quit teasing us!

Personally it sucks, they cut out all of the good funny stuff, they couldn't get all of the original voice cast, and they changed the dialog. Overall it blows, sucks, and plain out stinks worse then Dragonball GT did. This is just my opinion though, I'm one who watched it originally on TV, VHS, and DVD when it was coming out.

Soo it seems that according to some people that the dbz kai broadcasted on 4kids is actually even more censored than the nicktoons version, I 've never seen the nicktoons version, so would someone care to confirm this? I could've sworn that I heard that 4kids didn't have the rights the make edits and such.
