Sony using new PSN Pass. Do you support this?

Games that are a part of this program will include a single-use registration code that grants the account holder redeeming the code full online access for that title.

a one-time-use code that enables online play, bundled with new copies of games and sold separately otherwise.

So does that mean we can buy a code separately from the game to enable it if purchased used?

@RazorDan

i'm aware of the EA ones, but i never really cared because i don't play EA games, though i might get Dragon Age sometime. i'm kinda disappointed now cause i like the Resistance series, and Uncharted 3 will probably have the PSN Pass.

So does that mean we can buy a code separately from the game to enable it if purchased used?

yes. so if you buy Resistance 3 later on used, then you'll have to buy a code, unless you don't plan to play online.

from what i've read in other forums (GameFAQs) it's probably gonna be $10 like the EA or Mortal Kombat pass, and probably won't go to server costs. this is the method devs are taking to combat used game sales. the price is purely speculation though.

Well then, it really just depends on how much the code will cost to whether I'd be alright with it. If I saved $10 by going used, I'd be fine with spending $2 to $3 for the code if I wanted to go online with the game.
They will most likely be $9.99 plus tax.

Simply because they're in the same category as Add-On packs that introduce new game modes.

If I were you, I'd just buy New, or wait a few months and then pick up a Used copy from a Game Haven or Game Stop, because game prices drop faster when they're Used.

this is just the beginning of the problem. Almost all EA games have codes like this, as does quite a few other games. They are implementing this as a way to combat piracy, the need to connect to the internet to verify your game, EVERY SINGLE TIME. No internet, no game for you sonny jim. The codes are just another way to limit the ability to share...

From what I've read about this pass it will just be a DLC "unlock key" which can be downloaded unto other consoles just like other DLC is.

It helps developers get some money back from second hand sells which I believe is a fair call.

ON PSN, the passes will cost $9.99 exact. You have to remember that there is no tax on PSN, assuming you use PSN Cards to get money in your PSN Account's Virtual Wallet. I am personally fine with this. It helps the companies make some money off of used and rented games. Without these passes, the publishers make $0.00 from pre-owned purchases and rentals through services like Gamefly. Without the money, they can't make more games.

It's tied to your PSN account which can be logged in from any PS3 I think. I could be wrong though.

Its all in your Downloads List. You can get it again on a NEW PS3, Unless you already Gameshared/Used that PSN on 4 other PS3 Systems. In that case, Your Shit-Outta-Luck on getting it back or on you NEW PS3. Lols.

I still HIGHLY disagree with this dumb idea... Im always broke, and who knows when I will wanna play online... That means I have to go buy one of these stupid cards, with money I don't HAVE! Screw you Sony and this idea.. -__-
