HD is worth it. I don't watch/download all my show in (720p) HD but most of them I do. I like plugging my computer into my TV to watch a lot of the time, so it being HD you can really tell the difference. Size on HD or 720p isn't too bad but 1080p unless you have a big screen TV (more the 32") you really aren't going to be able to tell the difference and the size of the 1080p isn't really worth it.

I require all the anime I download and put on disk to be the absolute best quality I can find, regardless of what anime it is. This started when I was obsessed with Death Note and wanted all 37 episodes in perfect quality. Then it's expanded to every single anime that I watch, so much so that I've redone my discs of InuYasha at least 3 times in order to get the best possible quality. If they're in HD, then that's perfectly fine with me; in fact, I would prefer HD if the series' resolution is supposed to be so already.

I'll always go for HD if it's available. Usually I'll download it in 720p, and if I'm going to archive it I'll consider redownloading the show in 1080p depending on the file sizes (I don't mind 500-750 MB for a 1080p episode, but I consider over 1 GB to be too much).

My laptop only has a SD screen but still the colours and well almost everything looks better with my HD version animes, i actually compared Angel Beats! & Kanon (2006) with 480p & 1080p and it's so much more enjoyable to watch them in HD. Even bettter when I stream to my HD TV you can properly see a massive difference, it's just brilliant =).

If the anime I'm downloading is a long series like dragon ball z or yu-gi-oh! I go for 480p, but I think that's just because there not able in HD. (although Dragon Ball Z is coming out on blu-ray at this moment so I'll probably replace my 480p versions with 720p or even 1080p versions if/when they become available).
