I'm probably goin to avoid Final Fantasy XIV as well. I did apply for the beta when I got XIII but I refuse to pay more for a game...after I buy it. Isn't crap like Xbox Live enough? Its fun, but solo right now with mithra at lv 9 Redmage is getting kinda boring farming for items to sell at the auction house so i can get gil >>But if anyone plays it, and wants to party up with me, just let me know, but iam on the Valefor server, i might use the world transfer to change to switch to Alexander thats what my friend is on. ragnawind Posted November 8, 2010 Report Share Posted November 8, 2010 Last time I knew, they were planning on shutting down all except possibly one server, but had no plans of making it Free2Play. If they do this, though, they would have to shut down the last XI server, leaving a hole in the numbered portion of the series. They would have been better off making the Online only version not part of the numbered series, like the old english RPG series, Ultima. WoW was a lot less of a time commitment than FFXI but the trade off was the community just isn't as nice (well just from my personal experience.
