I agree with Green, I am 27... and still looking for my meaning. Maybe the meaning of MY life is to write, or look after my sisters children or go back to the U.S..

But at the moment I am living my life to the fullest so I have a meaning. I talk, I help and I love... at the moment that is my meaning of life.. for all I know my meaning could just change tomorrow...

For me (and i probably think most people).

The Meaning of life is to Spend It doing what you enjoy (Whether that be Playing sports or Posting on Forums while watching anime while Playing video games). Now of course with that i don't mean If you enjoy Killing people thats what you should dedicate your life to, thats just wrong. I Find it to be Doing what you enjoy, And doesn't harm others (or maybe benefit others). Like my meaning of life to too Take care of my family and do what i enjoy (Fight for the rights of others). And maybe contribute to the population one day.

(i know, this may not make sense to some "OH DAH AGANY!" lol)

What is more meaningful, then not having meaning? Life has no built in meaning, life allows you to create and formulate your own meaning for it, being completely malleable and dependent on the individuals points-of-view.

Wow.. I can't believe I never thought of it that way. I think you just made my day. I'm a very creative person and your description fits perfectly in my way of life. I love it. Thank you. =)

The meaning of life....Hmmmm...

Well my biology teacher said it was to reproduce.

Me? I think that if religion such as Christianity (no offence to anyone) is that of some all being watching us suffer as a large joke. If we are some experiment we have truly gone wrong unless the whole point was us to suffer for some crime.

The meaning of life? Life is what we make it. If we chose to watch others suffer are we as much to blame as those torturing? Instead of stopping it. So the meaning of life to me is to make other people happy, to help bring them peace and hopefully better.

Sorry, this time i'll be serious. The meaning of life is, quite simply, life itself. To define the meaning of life you have to give it boundaries. With boundaries life becomes a quantity, which I'm turn means that it has laws. Once life has laws, quantity and boundaries then it can be explained. If it can be explained then it doesn't have a meaning, it has a definition. This is a paradox because something that has a definition can't have a meaning so you can not begin the process of understanding the meaning due to fact that to do means that you invoke this paradox. Proof of this is is trying to understand the meaning of infinity, you can't it just IS. So using Occum's Razor we find that the only logical answer is that the true and only meaning of life is life itself. Most wil denie this because they don't want to believe that. Life. Just. IS.

"the meaning of life is to die"---Smith

not really, but I believe everyone has their own meaning.....mine being that life has to be enjoyed to the fullest. The meaning of life is to enjoy it....in a way...although it usually never goes that way..It all depends on what the person does in life that makes him successful.

to me, the logic of life MEANING only what life IS is cyclic..the net result of an event which attaches a quantity of value to itself, which then in turn defines the event itself is like a logical induction gone horribly wrong

a. life itself cannot be considered to exist without meaning because it has no value

b. therefore it cannot be used as a premise to support its own value

in my opinion life is given meaning by an initial propagating factor. that factor is an external influence which defined 'life', giving it a value and allowing us to experience it. in more objective terms a factor which laid the egg from which the chicken was born or created an inherent purpose to the world. without this impetus the entire journey of human existence is nothing more than a Schroedinger's cat of epic proportions

the alternative of course is the somewhat nihilistic view that there is in fact no purpose to life other than what we give it. yes and all of the amoral hedonism that this implies. if there are no reference points or boundaries in life one may as well be a murderer, because the only standards that exist are the ones one sets for themselves. the idea of effecting other people's perspectives and creating a 'ripple effect' of legacy and social contribution is shortsighted at best, no matter what feelgood propaganda will tell you.

that is, without an inherent meaning to life. So:

a. life cannot be, from an objective perspective, meaningless (paragraph 2)

b. life cannot be a meaning in its own right (paragraph 1)

therefore there must be an overarching meaning in life. to me its religion.

Who here is dead? Are you dead yet? Are you sure you are going to die? What if you do nothing for your whole life and found out you still haven't died? Do you know what death feels like? What if you are eternal and the people dying around you are fakes to make your world?

Does anyone here knows death?

I do not need a meaning in life. I am here. There is nothing that is going to change that and killing myself right now is pointless. Us humans search for a meaning to everything but not everything needs one. Feel the air that you breath. Imagine a child in your hand. The warmth of love. Your fingertips touch the fabric of your clothes. Feel the emotions of you, of others. Does this all need a meaning? Even if it ends in a blazing hell at lest we were here instead of just being nothing. Maybe there is an afterlife, but maybe not. Being a good person either way is golden. I've had to go through hell in my life and because of it I've come out alright.

Not everything needs a meaning, Live your life simply the way it is. If something is wrong change it. Maybe even take it in as a goal to be a good person. To warm the hearts of others.

Ect. ect.

I've probably made it confusing lol
