well this is a hard question...i have too many anime girls to count, but here is some of the more recent ones i like...

The entire female cast (of the goodies i mean as there is more) of Linebarrels Of Iron

also there is the girls form phantom: requiem for a phantom, especially cal when she grows up....(sorry but i cant find anyt pictures that do her justice, and those that do ar NSFW...XP)

+1 about Tifa. I like her best when it comes to video game girls but in anime, as far as I can remember, I liked Kagome from Inuyasha way back then. 1st Year High School I think hahah

Tamao Suzumi from Strawberry Panic, not the most out there character going, but she is a faithful friend and even though you can see it upsets her to help Nagisa, she still goes ahead, very strong female imo

Hahaha Cheers for Nagisa! She is indeed, a perfect wife + she is sweet. But I think when it comes to clannad, I like Tomoyo or Kyou because they are more energetic not to mention tough
