Chapter 1

Every human being has a fear of the dark. When we are children we are told that this fear has no grounds. Scientist have said it's the fear of the unknown and that it's based on our primal orgins that we were once food for predators.

Now that is curious.

Are we on top of the foodchain?

Or merely prey for a high predator?

The sky was a velvet puple with the pulmes of clouds obsecuring the fading sunlight. The red brick building now the colour of bark and the window darkening with every passing minute.

Lectures had finished for the day as Poppy came out of the sliding front door. The University was one of the best in the country, all the students had to pass exams both mental and physical. Poppy had only just passed the physical endurance test; the examiners let her through due to her high mental exam scores. The odd thing about this university wasn't the strange entrance exam. It was that it was in the middle of no where. The nearest town was ten miles away, and the buildings themselves were built in the middle of a wood, meaning all students lived on campus.

Poppy slid a lock of hair that had come loose from her ebony ponytail. Her eyes were almost as dark. Her mind was thinking of the many comments about her appearance; she had once been called a vampire due to her pale skin and her dark eyes.

The sun finally set as the lights slowly switched on to show the web like paths back to the dormatories.

Poppy shivered, shaking her head as she fought the urge to run.

He malicously grinned as he watched the dark haired girl walk away. Mine.

The best university in the country is situated in some forest? Curious. Though i like woods, but the place must be creepy. And it seems pretty deserted, no other students except Poppy. Must be a good university indeed. And yet they should do something about security. Stalkers on territory - indescribable irresponsibility!
