The Playstation Phone

Well, apparently pictures of the Playstation Phone were leaked.

What are your thoughts on it?

Do you think people will really change from their cellphones to this?

I don't see the point in getting this since I already have a PSP but I guess someone who may not have a PSP or a cellphone may see the use for this.

This design obviously isn't the final version, so of course it doesn't look that great yet.

uh, if it's called "The Playstation Phone", why does it have Sony "Ericcson" written on it?

PlayStation Phone speculation intensified Wednesday as blog Engadget showed off what appears to be an actual Sony Ericsson phone with PlayStation buttons.

Sony declined to comment on the rumor (same as last time this rumor surfaced), but Engadget reports that it's heading to market "soon" -- like 2011 soon. The prototype unit shown in the blog's photos has a long multitouch enabled touchpad in the center, support for microSD cards, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is 3.7 to 4.1 inches.

I'm guessing it's a prototype, but Engadget seems to be very confident that it is 100% real.

Well, apparently it's gonna cost at least $300. I don't see the point in this. There goes Sony with their high prices...

i don't get it tho,. from the image i'm seeing, the only thing that makes this different from PSPGo is that you can call people with this.

Other than that, I don't see what new features they could possibly put in this.

playstation entering handhelds was a fail, playstation entering phones will also be a fail , they should stick with what they know and not make fools of themselves.

Sounds fake to me and it might just be a photoshopping or something. Either way I wouldn't get excited about it because the last thing we need is another Sony PSPGo incident.

I think I speak for all of us who are happy with our PSP-3000 models when I say we want three things from the next PSP portable gaming device: Backwards compatability (i.e. UMD slot), a focus on gaming rather than gimmicks, and TWO ANALOG NUBS.

most of the games end up compromising the L and R buttons for camera, thus further limiting gameplay.

If it was real I personally wouldn't change my phone to this... unless it had some amazingly awesome must have games... that and the harsh contract you would probably be suckered into getting from the cell phone company you got it from .

I see the message of "No Sim" thus T-Mobile which means Im not buying it. Why can't they go to a bigger phone carrier like Verizon so I can buy it. But Ive heard its real and Ive heard its fake on the internet. Since its T-Mobile still I now have no intrest in the phone.

T-Mobile is the only one that uses Sim Cards.

As far as I know Cingular/AT&T uses them as well.

Like I said though, I believe that picture to be some lame fake photoshopped picture and not the real deal.

I have to agree with Koby there, if it were a prototype phone/psp then does it not make sense that it would be in the Japanese language and NOT English?

im 2 years late to this i know but i currently own this phone and its worth it, the game pad works perfectly and you are able to load emulators onto the phone which is awesome with the gamepad so if you can get your hands on it cheap like i did do it
