Mujklob
I'm torn between Taekwondo and Judo. Our club teaches both. I guess I would prefer Judo for the chokes, arm locks, etc. I am red belt in Taekwondo, and brown belt in Judo.
shyguysteve
wu shu, wengh chun or jeet kune do.wu shu, for the flexibility needed to preform it, is something I hope one day to be a master of.weng chun, takes so much more time to learn then master; it is something truly exciting for me, by focusing on certain points of the body you can win with weaker strikes then gong over board with physical power. this is the woman's martial art not just because of its origins created by a woman but because size, power and weight means nothing in this style.and jeet kune do, because this is a hybrid martial arts. Taking up many styles and stances and mixing them together into fluid motion. Bruce Lee's a real master for doing this.

shyguysteve
certain things didn't used to be considered martial arts. and for a long time general kung fu wasn't martial arts, martial arts is an old term meant to generalize the styles from japan mostly.in the past it would be martial arts vs kung fu to see which style from asia was the strongest, it all depends on who is fighting.capoeira was the first physical style I studied, I wasn't the best at it but good enough in the 4th grade. shyguysteve
You mean Arnis, or what it's commonly known today as Kali?My grandfather taught me it when I was a kid. So I guess me being Filipino and all, I'll take that as my fav. Nothing beats the philosophy of "Offense first, over defense.". One can always learn to block or evade, but to have knowledge to counteract and strike, is pure gold imo.

ProxyIchig0
Bruce Lee's martial art because it is no martial art. It's taking the best of other martial arts and fighting styles, and whatever works in real fights, as well as adapting and improvising constantly. You really think they play by the rules and go by styles and set martial arts in real fights? Do whatever it takes to win, because your life is what's on the line in real fights. lemmingllama
Personally I like Shotokan Karate the most, although thats because its what I do. Its basically a balance between the brutalness of Kung Fu and the technique of Tai Chi. It may not be super intense, but its good for the mind and body
