Gundam Seed/Destiny

Although this is a fairly old anime, I myself have just started getting engrossed in the series, and I love the way it breaks away from other mech animes with just fighting, and actually delves into the characters stories and emotions. I have yet to start watching the second series of Gundam seed(Destiny), but I hope to buy the series on dvd sometime in the near future. Anyone else think this is a great anime series?

I started watching Gundam Seed a month ago or so. I finished it and thought it was really well done.

I've started watching Gundam Seed Destiny now, and I'm about episode 20 now. I'll have it finished soon.

GSeed is one of the best anime I've seen in the 21 century, yet you must be prepared that GSDestiny may disappoint you somehow in terms of its plot and characters' development.

I disagree with the above, Seed is just a re-hash of the original series, while Destiny is more original then the follow up Zeta. Although it loses marks for Kira over-shadowing a promising new character in Shinn, and the lacklustre last episode tying up fat too many loose ends at once

i liked seed but disliked destiny in the last episode i counted 37 seconds of new footage as in stuff that wasn't used from seed

i loved the hell out of gseed but g destiny ehhh its not a disappointment it is interesting i just had to abandon it for now due to other series i wanted to watch and because my hard drive said oops no space

I was skeptical of Seed at first. I didn't like the characters (they all seemd too whingy), but I grew to love the plot. I agree with Blue Moon Dragoon - it's great that Seed maintained a balance between fighting and character development. That's what ultimately drew me in.

I've been meaning to watch Destiny, but all the negative comments about it have turned me away.

Yes, I do. This one is quite brilliant. Destiny is quite good as well. In Destiny, though, one of the characters always pissed me off. You'll know them when you see them.

Seed is the series that got me into Gundam in general. I liked Destiny too but i couldn't stand a couple of the new characters.

I watched it when it was released, and loved it. I'd probably have to watch it again to give a more accurate answer, but from what I remember, it was a really good series.

i liked gundam SEED alot. it has all the unnecessary drama that all the gundam series have but it is very relevant to the plot and is believable. aint finished destiny yet though

I am watching Gseed, its quite brilliant,balanced between fighting and character development. That's what ultimately drew me in.

I started late watching the series also. Its quite intriguing even though the central theme or formula stays the same. Its amazing how the characters are developed for each series. Can't wait for the new ones to come out like Unicorn ep2 or the announce movie of the Gundam 00.
