Koby
Photoshop is definitely the best for photo editing that I have worked with.
idl12
For freeware check out Gimp, I personally find it easier and more efficient than Photoshop, although if you like this stuff you should definitly get photoshop as it has more features for profesional stuff. Cynthia
If you want freeware for Photo editing, I would suggest photoshop and fireworks, however for freeware, GIMP is the way to go. (Although you don't NEED to "legally" acquire photoshop or fireworks.)For video editing, there really is no good freeware, but I HIGHLY suggest Sony Vegas Pro. It's very powerful and easy to learn. You can get a keygen for it fairly easy.

lordofelemental
why not try Adobe Photoshop CS5? or if not, Corel Draw + Corel Paint.. that is good for photo editing. Corel Paint is much more good that effects that Photoshop is
trace494
The best would be Photoshop if you have the money. Though for a free alternative just use Gimp.

RikuoAmero
my best friend is just finishing up his 4 year animation degree, and he says to me that Adobe Premier CS5 is the best video editing program there is. While another friend of mine about a year ago, for his college work, used Sony Vegas Pro. I would recommended Adobe purely because I hate Sony for their anti-consumer practices. jen2sons
I use adobe myself. I have Jasc but always end up back in adobe. I love that you can download actions and make actions. I have restored family pictures and turned them into a DVD . I was able to make actions to do a lot of the repeat tasks that would have taken forever to do over and over one at a time.
