Thought I would drop by and participate.

Would someone please explain to me the purpose of the transparency on both sides of the banners? Is that mandatory? I'll re-do mine if necessary.

It's there so the banner blends into the background. It would probably be ok on a 4:3 screen, but on a 16:9 it would look weird.

Haha, well, short of expecting you to read every single contest thread, no one could reasonably expect you to know about that. Here's what Koby had to say in July's thread:

Size is:

Width: Whatever you want, as long as it's 1020 pixels or less.

Height: 160 pixels

Would look best with both sides fading into transparency (you can do this however you'd like).

I forget to turn off F.lux all the time when I'm doing this stuff and then I guess my colours end up weird. Not that I had any colour sense to begin with.
