Medieval times anime?

Well hello guys! Nice to be back online!

Here is my question: Could you name anime that take place in mid-evil time period or in the past or in completely different world that is recreation of history(or something like that)?

Here are examples like:

Tears to Tiara,

Spice and Wolf,

The Sacred Blacksmith,

Kiba,

Fullmetal Alchemist,

Grenadier(so-so),

Samurai Champloo,

samurai-7,

The Familiar of Zero,

The Tower of Druaga,

Makai Senki Disgaea,

Black Butler,

Dantalian no Shoka,

As you can see from the list most of them contain swords or/and magic...

p.s. I have searched ANN for hits on genres but as I found out not all anime are labeled properly

p.p.s Sorry if it is a wrong board.

Thanks for your help!

Spice and Wolf definitely has a medieval theme to it. I would also recommend, like many others have said, Claymore, Record of the Lodoss War, and Berserk.

One other anime that was not listed, but that definitely falls into this category would be Escaflowne. There are some sci-fi elements to it, but overall it takes place in a medieval world (note that the first couple of episodes might lead you to think otherwise, but this is not the case).

I hope this helps! I think it might help people better understand what you're looking for if you gave us some more details. The term "medieval" is extremely broad. I am assuming that you want animes that seem to place in a world that somewhat resembles medieval Europe, based on what other people have posted, but there are a lot of other animes that take place in medieval Japan, for example.

Claymore

Since Mid evil isn't a perfect genre I found a bunch in the fantasy and swordplay genres that closely matched as possible. All in some shape or form end up takeing place in a Mid evilish style bachdrop.
