Here's another riddle:

Five hundred begins it, five hundred ends it,

Five in the middle is seen;

First of all figures, the first of all letters,

Take up their stations between.

Join all together, and then you will bring

Before you the name of an eminent king.

D.A.V.I.D.

The answer is "Dozen". Removing the letter 's' from the word "Dozens" we get the word "Dozen" which is equivalent to twelve.

Now here's a paragraph, read it carefully and answer the riddle:

Three guests check into a hotel room. The clerk says the bill is $30, so each guest pays $10. Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be $25. To rectify this, he gives the bellhop $5 to return to the guests. On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes that he cannot divide the money equally. As the guests didn’t know the total of the revised bill, the bellhop decides to just give each guest $1 and keep $2 for himself.

Now that each of the guests has been given $1 back, each has paid $9, bringing the total paid to $27. The bellhop has $2. If the guests originally handed over $30, what happened to the remaining $1?

You gave us false information. They havent actually paid 27, they paid 28 since 25+3=28, then add the two for the bellhop.You told the riddle slightly wrong. You should mention that 3*9=27 since the guests havent paid just 9 dollars each.

It occurs once in every minute

Twice in every moment

And yet never in a thousand years.

Your explanation is absolutely correct. But unfortunately, I cannot accept your answer. You told that the answer is "dozen" but actually the answer is "dozens"

It occurs once in every minute

Twice in every moment

And yet never in a thousand years.

The answer is the letter "m"

Actually I didn't. The answer was supposed to be the same thing which you answered. So Congratulations. The intention of this riddle was supposed to make the answerer confused and to see if he/she could see through it.

A part of heaven,

Though it touches the earth.

Some say it's valuable,

Others - no worth.

Hey I know this one. It's a rainbow.

This is the line that there is a problem with. Each has not paid 9, one has paid 10. Additionally, the total paid is not 27. This means that you are lying to the people. If you just say that 3*9=27 in it, then you are still giving facts, just that it is completely unrelated to the problem at hand.

Also you got my riddle :P good job

It's really a tough one. Is the answer Rainbow.

EDIT: While I was brainstorming, I see that the answers of both the riddles were given.

Anyways, nice one Leviathan. I knew there was a mathematical error somewhere. Just couldn't figure out the exact one.

Now, the next riddle:

What would be the next line of digits?

1

11

21

1211

111221

312211

13112221

The answer is:

1113213211

When did you learn about the Look and Say sequence?

Anyway, let's see if you can tell the next three numbers.

31131211131221

13211311123113112211

11131221133112132113212221

Okay, another sequence:

1=3, 2=3, 3=5, 4=4, 5=4, 6=3, 7=5, 8=5, 9=4, 10=3, 11=?, 12=?

Only one color, but not one size,

Stuck at the bottom, yet easily flies.

Present in sun, but not in rain,

Doing no harm, and feeling no pain.

What am I?

You are a shadow

A painting, I have no frame,

No gallery exhibits me;

Here today, tomorrow I move;

Yet I am as permanent as life itself.

A painting, I use no canvas,

Yet my canvas is the essence of life;

No brush was used in my creation,

But colors are mine to display.

A painting; who am I?

Oh and just a heads up, the answer is not 'a painting'
