RikuoAmero Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 I've just re-watched Episode 20 "Soul of the Guardian" of Full Metal Alchemist (the original anime) for the umpteenth time (I'll be starting Brotherhood english dub after this), and I just had to say I loved the last couple of minutes, where Barry the Chopper with a few carefully chosen sentences has Alphonse Elric doubting his entire existence. Along with Number 48's irony of being referred to as a person by Ed, when he and his brother are now a suit of armour.I just love that moment, because its something I rarely see iin a TV series - true introspection, where the characters really struggle with their identity and meaning of existence.One other moment I love is in Death Note, in one of the earlier episodes, when Light is trying to get Naomi Misura to tell him her name, so he can kill her. The moment when he says "Oh, I guess its because I'm Kira" and she walks off, and the image of a gallows (or was it a guillotine? I forget) just emphasises the true depravity of Light. Here he is, walking and talking calmly with a woman who is clearly not evil in any way, merely wanting to catch the person who murdered her fiance, and Light is still able, without any kind of attack from his conscience, to look her in the eye, and tell her she's about to die, simply because he wills it.So, does anyone have other great moments to share? solidgenisis Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Out of many the two that really stick out are; on Code Geass when Lelouch is talking to C.C and Suzaku is talking to Euphie and Suzaku and Lelouch are using opposite words with the same meaning, and on Gundam Wing when some guy in Heero's class starts yellig at him about making Releena cry while they were fencing and Heero forces the foil through the guys helmet, tells him "next time I'll give it to you instead of ripping it up" and walks off. Now the rest.. it's up to us." and then he puts his coat on the looks into the sunrise with the background music. It's so cool. I always rewatch that episode just for that part.The end of episode 11 in Air when Misuzu rejects her father and finally calls Haruko "mummy" and they do the beach run towards each other, tears streaming down their faces. I think I cried my eyes out watching that but it's such an awesome scene.Also, the end of Black Lagoon episode 7 where Rock and Revy fight and then they share the cigarette kiss in the back of the police car. LOL I've re-watched Black Lagoon 5 times now but I've probably watched this ep about 10.. aha.Hm, I seem to love endings a lot. Anyway, those are just some of my favourite anime moments. The entire episode is one of the tensest moments in any anime I've ever seen. The face-to-face challenge for Light is such a huge switch from the distant mind games Light has been playing with L, and the conflicting sympathies it inspires in the viewer is truly a masterpiece. Awesome. My second choice is where Kenshin learns the final technique from Hiko in Rurouni Kenshin. Watching Hiko fall into the water was one of two or so scenes that ever gave me an actual sadness in an anime. The good kind. It was amazing. Then they beats him badly.Favorite one is when Vash the Stampede - Trigun, is really mad after massacre made by man in odd armour. Episode 12 - name is Diablo.
