    • 5, Well... people do watch it here, but I don't think it's extremely popular.

I'd say a 7, mostly because in Mexico's top TV network they aired (and I think they still are) Dragon Ball and Pokemon also, so everyone at least knows those two. In cable TV there's more stuff, and even though is not extremely popular there is a lot of people who like it and watch it regularly. The down side is that there are no specialized anime or manga stores… you can find some stuff in movie stores but not that much really…

Meh, it's so-so is Australia. Most people who like it don't talk about it, on pain of suffering social ridicule; that having been said, most know of it, but the knowledge still comes with the usual complex surrounding watching anything animated beyond the age of ten or so, and the pegs of being creepy

well i voted 1 as people here don't even know the difference between anime and cartoon. children and some grown ups like cartoons as it airs on tv but anime is almost unknown to them except for naruto, dbz, etc that are aired here. anime being aired is rare though.

I grew up thinking animes were cartoons, I had no idea that animes were different in some form to cartoons. To me a cartoon was a cartoon, until 3 years ago when I first really got into animes and that barrier was destroyed.

well I'm french and in france is the second consumer of manga and anime after japan, and we have japan expo and way more others festivals so, yeah, rather glad to be french

Yeah in France mangas are very popular, but I don't think the same can be said about anime, we're only two in my class to actually watch anime and the other one is a Japanese friend who got me into anime. I voted 5
