Jikochuu
Most of the time the chara design attracts me more than the story though it's kinda always the same cliché (short skirts for the girls, big eyes, pitched voices etc.)But I'm still enjoying them because the school daily life reminds me what I have never lived, but that I wanted to live XD
engsta
Slice of life animes are extremely funny. More people should give them a chance. Lucky Star, K-On!, Minami-ke, just to name a few.
TheBatman
A lot better than the hardcore action/mind numbing stuff. Take a break from that once in a while and watch something amazing. Like what is recommended above.
coffeeNiK
Since Lucky Star and Azumangah Daioh I've been enjoying Slice of Life animes. I usually recommend them as a change of pace because it feels really enjoyable to watch naturally. Oh and Fruits Basket. :>
Anoki
Some of the most memorable Animes I have watched are slice of life. Some of my all time favorite Anime are in fact slice of life.Toradora!Lucky StarHaruhi I & II (even the endless eight) + MovieAnd who could ever forget Clannad. I mean its hard not to love Clannad. One thing I will say about the genre though is, I can't watch many in consecutive order. As much as I love them watching 3-5 Anime in a row of this genre is tough for me as they seem to all have the same kind of episodes. While the characters and the way they interact with each other change for every episode they all mainly have the same kind of episode setup. sqrt1764
I liked Clannad a lot. There's no action scenes, but the story is really what I watch anime for.
zoey1
Slice of Life is my favorite genre. All of my absolute favorite anime are slice of life.
Almighty Albino
I think it really depends on the story and how it's executed. Some are really great and some are terrible.
Reptoholic
It depends on the show, but I like a bit of everything.

JaKeS66666
It's pretty good, something other than the usual vampires or monster anime.
Leviathan
Well i don't have any slice of anime in my top ten lsit, but that doesn't mean that i dislike them or anything. I really do enjoy SoL animes and have seen some awesome ones in my life (Clannad 1 and 2, Lucky Star, K-ON 1 and 2, Honey and Clover 1 and 2, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya etc). Before starting an SoL anime I wil expecting to see something simple but out of ordinary plotline, a little romance, maybe a little tragedy or sadness, good comedy and maybe some high school action. If I find all these things (or maximum of them) in an SoL then I will give it a good rating of 8 or 9 out of 10. gundam205
I usually rate them on rather how hooking the story could be or how funny it is.

zx0
Slice of life is my favourite genre. Usually a slice of life anime has another theme which makes the anime fresh, like being based on otaku, music, sport etc.

tvalien
I like it. What's wrong with escapism for entertainment's sake?
Rivinhal
I personally love Slice-of-Life stuff. Something about finding humor in everyday realism is great to me. I'd say it's my favorite "genre" of anime (although I do love others as well), since I love shows like Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, etc, and one of my all time favorites: Crayon Shin-Chan.
