Would like something intresting

Recommended Posts

Ok i've read alot of manga as well so if you got anything good let me know. List of what i've read/watched: deathnote, naruto, bleach, inuyasha and dbz. Alot more as well but these are my favourites. So any suggestions?

I can give you some examples from other shows that are similar to these. The obvious ones (by which i mean famous) that you have missed so far are, one piece, code geass, full metal alchemist and brotherhood, hitman reborn, gurenn lagann, d.gray man, soul eater. (If you are going to watch soul eater then i highly recommend reading the manga since it is 100x better.)

However, incase you want something different here are some other examples.

Outlaw Star: This is about a man called Gene starwind and his friend who are given this space ship. Using this ship they gain other crew members ( a female android, a female samurai, and a human-like cat) and go looking for treasure, with many fights along the way. This was one of the first anime that i watched since it was on UK tv (an amazing feat that very few animes have acheived).

I found this anime to be really fun to watch, with great characters who you love to watch grow. I love the comedy aspect of this anime too, although there are some very touching moments near the end. I love the opening theme too.

This is will soon be re-released (for about the second time) my anime legends.

Another anime to watch is full metal panic, full metal panic : fumofu and the second raid. These are military based. The main male character souske sagura has been militarily trained practically from birth- starting off life as a guerrilla and now working for the anti-terrorist group Mithril. He has now been charged woth the task of looking after a girl called chidori who has top secret information hidden within her. These two have a very funny relationship, both in and out of school, since the first thoughts of souske are always military eg bombs and gadgets before anything else. The other characters are very funny and likable too.

Fomufu is all about the comedy and the school life romantic relationship building between characters. the best part of fomufu is bonta-kun- an amusement park's mascot. Souske often dresses up in the costume to protect chidori without her knowing. There is eventually an army of them which is both funny and scary in a sarcastic way.

The second raid focuses on souske's past when he meets people from his past life as a guerrilla.

Whether you like the comedy aspect, or the more political and action side, these three series will have it all.

Other good animes are Shaman King and rave master. Shaman king is about a boy Asakura Yoh, who uses a spirit to help him fight in a tournament to become Shaman King. Whilst there is alot of fighting there is quite a focus on the relationships between characters too.

Rave master is written by the creator of fairy tail, and is one that I have not watched recently, so i can tell you alot about it. Sorry.

Black lagoon is another fighting orientated one and is about a group of mercenaries and the jobs that they carry out. The main character is a typical office worker grunt, who have a very boring 'normal' life. However he is captured by these mercenaries and eventually decided to join their group. This story could be about his adaptation to the mercenaries way of life and the differences between the too. However there are loads of great gun fights to watch by the main female Remy. She is a gun happy woman who will give you quite a foul mouthful and will alway speak her mind.

One that is not as fighting based but still good to watch is Black Butler, also known as kuroshitsuji, which is about a demon butler and his 12 year old master. The main story is about how the butler Sebastian helps his master find revenge against the people who killed his parents and forced him to make a contract with the demon butler. In return after Ciel has has his revenge sebastian gets to eat his soul. This is set in Victorian england and is both funny and action packed. The other house servants and reoccurring characters are generally there for comic relief. The first series is very good with some very interesting stories being told. The second series has one of the best ending i have seen for a while, and introduces two new characters; another contractor and his demon butler. The second series mainly focuses oin the battle between the 4 main characters.

This anime is one that i would strongly recommend to watch in japanese with subs since i hate the English dubs- having watched the japanese first i believe that the voices are much better suited to the characters.

These are the first action animes that come to my mind. However if you want to try some different genres then i would hightly recommend Ouran High school host club, the wall flower, Tsubasa, Detective conan (case closed) , negima (both seasons and the totally different OVA), pandora hearts and XXXHolic.

Mahou Sensei Negima is another anime in which i recommend reading the manga since the animes and manga are barely related, the ova's are animated versions of manga chapters- hence why reading the manga is recommended.

Finally, other good anime to watch are some of the current spring season- if you don't mind reading japanese subs. Tiger and bunny, Ao No exorsist, and C: the money of soul and possibility control are ones to look at- all contain fighting.

I'm sorry that my post was so long and that you had to read it all. If you ever want anymore information of any of these animes or mangas then please message me and i would be happy to talk to you about them.

Hope this helps and happy watching and reading

Well I can try. I'll try not to give any spoilers, but sorry if i do :)

Code Geass:

season 1 25 episodes

season 2 also known as R2 is 25 episodes]

This is quite an intellectual anime in the same way deathnote is. The general story is about a rebellion that is going on. The Britannian empire has control of alot of the world, and Japan is one of their latest conquests. Japan has been renamed Area 11- the people have been demoted and are treated like trash. The main character Lelouch Lamperouge, is actually the son of the britanian emperor. However his mother was killed and his sister become disabled and his father did nothing about it. At the start of the anime lelouch gains the power of Geass, and this along with his hatred of his father drives him to become the masked hero Zero and lead the rebellion. In addition there is a fight between lelouch and his childhood friend suzaku kururugi who believes that zero's ways of changing the world is wrong (eg the goal is not worth it if gained through wrong means). Suzaku becomes the best knightmare pilot and fights against Zero.

There is alot of strategy and tatics involved and the fights are generally done through mechas called knightmares.

Fullmetal alchemist and brotherhood.

[FMA 51+ a movie which finishes the anime off- english dub

fmab: 64 in japanese sub since not all of it is english dub yet.]

These are two different series that follow a similar story. Fullmetal alchemist come first and follows the same story to a point however because the manga was not finished there is a different ending. FMAB follows the manga more closely. I recommend watching FMa first since some events are better explained- eg there are often references to events that happened in FMMA that were not really explained in FMAB.

FMA is about two brothers who have become alchemists. A few years before the start of the anime, their mother died and they used alchemy to get her back- however this type of alchemy is forbidden since no one has done it successfully. The brothers fail, Ed (the older and the main character) loses his leg and his younger brother Alphonse loses his whole body. Ed sacrifices his arm to save his little brother- however since there is no body left the soul is attached to armour instead. Ed is given Automail (fake limbs) by family friends. Later on from this Ed becomes a state alchemist and part of the military. The story is about ED and Al trying to regain their bodies by finding the philosophers stone. However the enemy gets in his way since they have their own agenda with the philosophers stone.

FMAB is slightly different- it covers the events from FMA in about the first 21 episodes. New characters are introduced who also want the stone to save their country.

Hitman Reborn: [203 episodes japanese sub only, manga is still ongoing]

now I have only read the first 4 volumes of the manga and have never watched the anime, but it is still a popular one.

The main characters are Tsuna and Reborn. Reborn is a 2 year old who is the Mafia's top hitman, and has been sent to train Tsuna to become the new vongola's boss. Training tsuna is not easy since he does not want to be one. So reborn does it in very interesting ways. The main one is the deathperation shot- a mixture of the word death and desperation. whenever shot with this bullet the person gains the power to fulfill their regrets. However if that person doesn't have regrets then they die. Other characters come to stop Tsuna from becomming the mafia boss- some of which later become part of his family. Reborn has a rival hitman from a different family- another toddler called lambo, who has a gun that swaps the baby for the adult of 10 years in the future. Lambo is a crybaby and gets annoyed when Reborn ignores him.

And i can't tell you anymore since i only have books 1-4.

Gurren Lagann: [ 27 episodes- although one is not really needed]

This is a very popular anime- which you can tell from many peoples avatars and signatures.

The story is in two parts because of a time difference about half way. the first half is about a guy called Simon, who is a digger with a large cone shaped drill. He has a friend (who is his bro in the sense of spirit not blood) called Kamina, who is know in the village as a trouble maker. All of the humans live underground, but Kamina and his dad made it to the surface. kamina was scared (since he was a small child) and returned underground. However everyone calls him a liar and doesn't believe that there is a surface.

One day a gunman- a mecha- falls through the ceiling and is attacked by Yoko, a bikini wearing woman carrying a large rifle type gun. At that time, Simon finds and pilots a smaller gunman, and during the fight they make their way to the surface. The boys remain on the surface and become gunman pilots by hi-jacking one for kamina. They start to fight for the freedom of mankind again the rulers of the surface, so that people may once again live on the surface. After a battle with the ruler of the surface, there is a time jump. It is revealed as to why humans were kept underground when a new enemy appears.

This show is very full of morals- especially by kamina- and self-empowering phrases- they type that make you feel better when you recite them to yourself. The main one being don't believe in you, believe in me, believe in the me who believes in you- or the many slight variations that are said throughout the show. In a way Kamina is the main character since the 'manly' things that he says are forever repeated by other characters- since they all have so much respect for him.

D. gray man

now this is a bit of a funny one. only half on the animated series is english dub, the other half is sub. And even then the anime doesn't really finish as such. 51 eps english dub then from 52-103 subbed. the manga is still ongoing.

the main theme of this anime is about exorcists fighting devils. Exorcists fight using a gift from god called innocence. the main character Allen Walker's innocence is in his hand which can transform into stronger versions- mainly a giant claw. Him and other exorcists fight against the Millennium Earl and the Noah clan who are in control of the devils known as Akuma- the japanese word form devils. The story follows Allen as he and his friends grow and become more powerful. However there is more to Allen and his past than meets the eye. (not telling anymore or else its a spoiler)

Finally Soul Eater

[ 51 episodes and an ongoing manga] The first 3 episodes are introductions to the main characters with each pair having their own episode.

Soul eater is an excellent anime in its own right, but the manga is so much better.

Soul eater is about three pairs of fighters who are saving the world from madness. In these pairs one is the meister (or main fighter) and the other is a weapon who also has a human shape. They are all part of the DWMA, which is a school set up to train these pairs and protect humans. The enemies are people whose souls have turned evil. The aim of these students is to fight and eat the soul of 99 evil souls and 1 witch. after this the weapon becomes more powerful and can be used by the head of the school Shimigami-sama aka lord Death. However the actual story is about the team trying to stop the Keishen who is spreading madness all over the world.

The 3 couples have a good range of characters. The main pair is Soul (weapon) and Maka (meister). Maka is an A grade student whose parents are graduates from this school. Her father is Lord Death's current weapon. Soul is a boy who is quite laid back and easy going, and wants life to be cool. Soul and Maka have an advantage over the others which is in the form of the Black Blood. This shows itself as a small devil inside Souls' soul, and gives soul power by pulling him and maka into madness and by giving soul a piano. (this is something that is better shown and more prominent in the manga- which is the main reason why i prefer the manga). The next pair are Black Star (meister) and Tsubaki (weapon). Black Star is an attention seeker and wants all eyes to be on him- he wants to be the biggest star and hates it when others upstage him. He has been compared to Naruto. Tsubaki is a girl who is very quite and accepting and puts up with black star. The Final pair is actually 3 people. The meister is Death the Kid, who is Lord Death's son. However he has a symmetry complex, and has to have everything symmetrical otherwise he has a noes bleed and faints, or cant concentrate- that kind of thing. As a result his weapons are Liz and Patty sisters who are twin pistols. They were raised on the streets and were thieves before finding Kid. They are constantly having to deal with kid's complex, and are extremely funny.

I hope that this helps you. Since you have watched Deathnote, i suggest watching Code Geass first, and maybe reading the Soul Eater manga first as well.
