my apologies, I misread your post (and feel like a total douche for it, must have missed the 2 defining words "people say" instead of me thinking you said that), and as for the video game comparison, that is a subject I know most so I used it because I know for a fact that what your saying is exactly like that (people comparing one thing to another), I can't do that with anting else, it's a perfect example of what you were saying because it uses the 2 major factors here, visuals of the earthquake and katrina, and experience of the earthquake and katrina, and how people judge the severity of one without all those factor of one based just on the knowledge they've been given without all the statistics. Not that they matter, the thoughts should be with the people of japan as this will shake an already politically and economically fragile country

sorry for taking what you said out of context

This is crazy. I've watched several videos on youtube and some footage on the news. The tsunamis look extremely destructive. My prayers go out to everyone affected by this. The thing that scares me is that I live right next to the San Andreas fault line here in California. (About 30 minutes away)... They've been expecting it to go for awhile.

It's all good bro. I can also see your point as in using video games for comparisons, although I still think something more realistic would be a better suited example for something like this but it's probably because I'm wired up over it. Since I can probably relate what they're (The People of Japan) are going through and feeling in a sense. Just hearing what some people were saying about it on other websites and shit made me so mad...

I plan on donating money Wensday when I get paid and urge everyone else to do the same, as much as you can give, even if it's only a dollar. I know I can't afford to give much but I'll give as much as I can and donate more when I get paid again.

one thing I'd like to point out as well, the video game comparison was mainly for the peoples reaction in comparing the natural disasters, the bastards, but thats not much considering it's still a time of crisis.

this is affecting everyone, and everything, even oil prices and everything, from the civil war in libia to the earthquake in christchurch, and the cyclone and flooding in the eastern states, now that everything is happening at the same time everyones having problems, so right now, people saying they have it worse is not only childish but also shallow.

I did try to think of something realistic due to it's nature, but that was an actual point of view by my friend and I instantly thought of that and couldn't shake it, so I chucked it in.

It's a terrible situation, my heart goes out to them.

Only hope things aren't further complicated by any other natural calamities.

As it looks like their going to have there hands full with the 2 nuke plants (Just what they need a couple of meltdowns) to top things off, hope the explosion at one isn't anything serious. I wish them luck.

all the stuff to do with the yellowstone caldera being active again is a bunch of media driven bullcrap...so stop bitching bout it. If it was active again it would be all over the new, but it aint...

anyhoo there has been an explosion in the fukishama II nuclear power plant and a small radiation leak...v.v Poor buggers are getting sucker punched by god atm... Also before peoples start gettin all scared and such this does not affect anyone else other then the Japs, and there wont be any nuclear fallout. Twas just a ruptured cooling tower and a possible meltdown if they cant control it...

also scott thats good to here...ive already dontated all i can, and even postponed ma MU prem renewal too help them...

I thought as much when she was saying the stuff I posted here. I know yellowstone has been on off over the past few years and if it was "waking up" more then what would be the norm it would have plastered the headlines even over here.

Least now I can go tell my "friend" that she is more full of sh*t then normal xD

yeah not affecting anyone else but the japs, and all the coastal towns in the pacific, that got hit by the resulting tsunami, of course

just mentioning

oh and this earthquake is the only crisis that I personally have seen Russia offer any help to any other country, just saying

no idea but I think they are helping because it's closer than other counties in need, and thats why their helping the Japanese and not everyone else, but considering that after this, they probably would have nothing to spare other than a thanks for the help, there really is no real reason, I mean in the statement they did refer to the Japanese as "neighbors in need"

people can't do anything about natural disasters.. it's just too bad for japan that even if they have an edge in technology surpassing other nations, they still can't hold back nature.. that's also goes for each country in the world.

i just hope that they can recover fast.. since that the damage is too big, especially in the near coastal areas.

i didnt mean the earthquake...i meant the reactor...

i know the earthquake has affected more than its fair share of peoples all around the pacific...

also the Japs have asked Britain for help due to there long term trading agreements...as well as Austrailia and China for being close. The Russians have offered help with food supplies not the search and rescue missions. Also I think the Japanese have refused help from the States, well all except that the military bases provide...but i cant confirm that yet...and i read that they refused their help with the reactor...but that might be bullshit aswell cause i read that on a news blog...
