... said a word, & then started thinking intensely, for 2 hours, about how weird it sounds, then a loud noise happens & you forget what you were just thinking about.

I hate it when I say a word and it sounds weird. Normally then I spend like an hour thinking it or saying it, and it just gets weirder the more I say it. Normally not a loud noise but a person disturbs my thoughts

I often think about 'where this word comes from' and 'why did they chose to use this pronunciation agains another'...

I don't know how much I spend thinking of it, but it happens frequently, especially when I have to learn new English words.

The weirder they sound, the harder they are to remember... whatever language it came from XD

Not exactly that, but sometimes I'll think about a word really hard, say it a bunch of times out loud or in my head, and it stops sounding like a word. Like the word "word". I'm getting to the point where if I keep typing it, it will cease looking like a logical word and just a random series of letters. Word, word, word, word, word. Word. Word, word. But yeah, English is a pretty funny language.

 

I do forget what I am doing pretty much all the time, though. I'll get up from my seat with the intent to do something, and then immediately forget why I even got up.

It's from the latin work Skullious which in technical terms means your noggin lol, i got no clue but it's weird nonetheless... but then again any word sounds weird... Arm, tree, tattoo, cat, dog, fire hydrant... All weird and even weirder after you say them 20 times in your head and they lose all meaning

I've never said a word at all. (Well, not loud enough for anyone sitting more than a foot away to hear me.)

 

But I do spend a lot of time contemplating words. That way I can pick the best ones for my stories.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks a word just sounds really really weird after you think about it for a long time. That's why I hate it in TV shows when they keep on saying the same joke over and over, and you keep hearing a word. Then it's just all aaaaagh not again!
