Among the 12 genin starters in Naruto, I would say Ino. She is overall an useless fighter whose jutsus never work.

ino's jutsu is mind control, so she is has to work in a team to make use of her jutsu. as a genin she doesn't know the full capacity of her powers. the capacity of her "powers" is shown in shippunden, although by her father since both have the same type of powers.

For the original Naruto, it was Sakura since she had no real skill or abilities at all. For shippuden, so far it actually appears to be Lee since everyone else has super crazy ninjutsus that allow them to fight the Akatsuki and Lee has the same taijutsu that hasnt improved much since the chuunin exams...

I say it was Konohamaru. C'mon, the kid barely even fought and when he did it was him getting hit. x ]

It isnt fair to include characters that arent even ninja. I could say the girl at the ramen shop or the random peasant that you see in the background of a scene. So should be an actual ninja, as in a genin or higher

I think Lee has improved a lot since the original series. In the original series, he could only open 4 hidden gates whereas he can open 5 gates in Shippuuden. And his taijutsu also improved very much. I must agree that Lee's fighting doesn't seem all that, but he is almost at equal level with Neji. Besides, his determination and training helps him to improve like Guy.

And in case of super ninjutsus, Lee doesn't need that. His taijutsu is one of the strongest in the village, he has enormous stamina, speed and strength. In my opinion, Lee can take on Kiba, Hinata, Tenten, Ino and Choji in a one on one fight.

We are talking about who the worst fighter is, as in one on one combat. Like you said, Ino's jutsus are based on stealth and tag team. If her jutsu fails to hit the target, she is a goner. She is not much good in taijutsu either. And frankly, she hasn't shown any major improvements like Choji or Hinata. So, I would say that she is the weakest among the twelve genin starters.

I have to agree with lemmingllama. In the original series, Sakura was the weakest. But we are talking about the present. So if you do a virtual sparring match in your mind among the characters, you will see it yourself.

With all due respect, did you even watch the fuckin' anime? Cause in both series' Konohamaru is a ninja. Hell, all he talks about (when he appears for no reason) is his ninja training and becoming the 6th or 7th Hokage.

This is partly true, but his taijutsu isnt the best in the village. Most jounin that are shown have superior physical prowess except the gates. Even then, Kekashi and Guy both seem to know how to do it, and we can assume from that focus group that other ninja can as well. So I doubt that he could take all of them. Also, I dont just see fights as a one on one combat in a tiny arena, but as a plethora of battles that have multiple situations and possible outcomes. So sure Lee could be stronger than others, but his skills arent enough to win as many fights. Ino has virtually no taijutsu but her powers could still be much more effective when used in a team.

There is no need to get aggravated. Its just that we never see his powers and also, in the original series he is in the Academy. That means that hes in school, not a ninja. Only after a person graduates from the Academy do they become a genin and therefore a ninja. Also, he ranted for most of the series that he wanted to be the 5th Hokage, and only moved on after that because the post was filled and changed to the 7th just so the author can make Naruto sound fancy

In the first series not counting Konohamaru's generation... I'd say Ino. Despite what people said above, Sakura did manage to tie with her in their battle. Which at the start of the series Sakura was always behind her. At that point Ino realized Sakura wasn't as bad as she thought and I believe it was at that moment she surpassed Ino. In Shippuuden Ino is definitely weaker than Sakura. Although both of them never really seemed to have fought much in any battles be in the first series or Shippuuden. Heck the only one I can remember Sakura fighting was during the Chuunin exam and against Sasori.

Just to be argumentitive, I will point out a flaw in your logic. Sakura did manage to tie with Ino, but it was pointed out that it happened mainly because Ino was exhausted from the Forest of Death and so didnt have the chakra to keep the jutsu going. If they hadnt just went through an exam, Sakura would have lost.

Well since were talking about fighters and no justu or genjustu I would say Ino is the weakest. either Ino, Shino, Tenten, or Shikamaru. None of them specialist in Taijustu at all. On a one on one fight with naruto, sasuke, Lee, Neji, choji, Kiba, hinata, or sakura and they could'nt use any jutsu they would get stomp.

This is kind of bologna, because Sakura went through the same shit in the Forest of Death. Before Lee arrived Sakura had been fending the enemies off by herself. Then Ino's group arrived after Sakura was already at the breaking point. Man it's been ages since I saw these episodes. I want to re-watch them eventually to refresh.

Worst Fighter doesn't mean without jutsus. It just means the individual strength of a ninja. So, both ninjutsu and genjutsu counts. Even in that case I would say Ino coz her mind control jutsu almost never works in a one on one fight while on the other hand her other team members can handle well in one on one fights.

Probably Sakura because she's overall useless :(

Atleast Ino can heal and Sakura has guts... Can TenTen really do anything except throwing ninjatools?

She's much better than both of them.
