Diablo
What does PC exactly mean mean? Does it mean computer with only Windows operating system, Linux or Mac computer or even an Android/iOS tablet can be called PC? I know Mac is also a Personal Computer(PC), but have you seen anyone using the word PC for a Mac?I always thought PC was a windows based computer and that term is always used exclusively for a 'Windows only computer'. Many people at my place use the term PC with tablet, i.e Tablet PC. Is this a right term to use?
† L4ugh
If I remember right, the PC we know today came from IBM when they created the basic standard that most computers have followed until today. Before this, there were a lot of different computer companies that all had their own design that weren't very compatible with one another. The designs that IBM and Apple came up with dominated the market. Eventually the IBM model was copied by other companies, and so started the great Apple vs PC War. IMHO, PCs one the war when Apple started to use the Intel based chips that PCs had been powered by for a couple decades. I was just a kid when all this started, and I used the same Commodore 64 up until my junior year of high school. So I'm not sure how complete or even accurate this telling of the story is, but it should at least follow the same plot.As for the PC only being Windows idea. That is due to the Apple propaganda that Jobs was so good at, but out of respect I'll let that one rest.

ZeroPenguins
For me PC means both ways, it just means personal computing. I think when they started PC and Mac marketing that's when people think Mac is not a PC. You can install Windows on Mac computer and you can install Mac on a Windows PC. So therefore no difference in hardware but in terms of software.

Max465
Pokemon Center!!!!YES!! THIS!!! XDBut as L4ugh said, the whole PC not being used for all computers came out of Apple's Marketing where they had a person represented as Mac and another person represented as PC because due to legal rights they were probably unable to use the term Windows. PC literally means Personal Computer. So yes, a Mac is a PC.
