Dan Den
The police have raided the house of a guy who is allegedly a member of a worldwide-known hacking group LulzSec. The man is accused of participating in a cyber attack of Sony Pictures.SourceCody Kretsinger, 23, was arrested at his house in Arizona and is now charged with conspiracy and the illegal impairment of a protected PC within cyber attacks that took place this late spring and early summer.Reuters managed to take a look at the 9-page indictment, which claims that Kretsinger, along with his co-conspirators, is suspected of using an SQL injection attack on the service in order to gain access to Sony’s servers. The guy, who went by the handle “recursion”, has published the data revealing that he and his fellows nicked from Sony Pictures on hacking group’s site. The attack itself was announced through the LulzSec’s Twitter account. The company is still trying to evaluate the level of damage incurred by the hackers during the attack. Meanwhile, hacktivists have published personal information like names, birth dates, addresses, e-mails, phone numbers and passwords of many users that had entered contests Sony was promoting at the time, despite the fact that information was a bit elderly.LulzSec claimed it just took a single injection for the company’s website in order to fall over and for it to get its paws on everything. In addition, the hackers noted that thousands people shouldn’t have put their faith in the organization that allows itself to become open to elementary attacks. The intrusion followed one more well-known high-profile raid on 77 million PlayStation Network accounts. Thus far, Kretsinger made an initial court appearance in Arizona and was bailed by American Magistrate Judge, who placed a condition of his release: Cody Kretsinger was prohibited to travel to any states except Arizona, California and Illinois, or use a computer in order to access the web. The only exception was made for a computer at his place of employment.Experts believe that Kretsinger faces a maximum sentence of fifteen years prison time if he gets convicted. Meanwhile, government prosecutors are demanding that he move to Los Angeles, where the attacked computer system is located, because the crime occurred there and the lawsuit against Kretsinger has been filed there as well. What are your thought and view on this matter as PS3 fans who suffered when the network was down. Pinkie Pie
ahaha wow. Justice is a dish best served when you least expect it. I wasn't affected by the hacking at all but that kind of hack is potentially the most dangerous sort.
Koby
The hacking didn't effect me at all besides the benefits of it. I got 2 free games out the deal. =P I don't play online via my PS3 that often so the downtime didn't bother me either. I don't think I even turned my PS3 on during the time actually. If we get free stuff every time I say bring on the hacks!Nah but seriously.. it's one thing to hack to show you can do it, and to help secure their security better, but releasing customer information such as passwords that's just a big no. He did the crime he can do the time.

Just last week me and my friends hacked into the school computer to prove that we could archive such a feet but to release other peoples information is just a disgrace you make all hackers around the world look like filth even those who just do it for the satisfaction of knowing they can do such a thing. seirachan
as far as I know they didn't do a thing with any of those accounts. They do not deserve to be in jail, as far as I know. But instead I think they should have just told sony what was wrong with their security instead of being all high and mighty proving a point. This got them in some bad trouble, but there's no way they can change it now.

Catwoman
I wasn't effected but my boyfriend and buddies were.He got what was coming to him. It makes me so angry to think that someone would show such information.I'm still sore about FaceBook doing it. That, however, was completely and utterly uncalled for. † Mute point
If they hadn't posted the information, but had instead informed Sony of the many many gaps in their security, they probably would have gotten a paycheck instead of prison time.Hey Lulzsec! Don't drop the soap!
DrumRoll
now hurry up and hack xbox live so that we can get free games, don't be biased you bastards!
idl12
If anyone actually bothered to check their website that could've been found simply by typing in lulzsec in google(looks like they took it down now) you would have seen that they did release the information, I don't recall any credit info but their was a bunch of login info for various places "coughpremiumpornsitescough" and some other sfuff from a bunch of important sites that you weren't supposed to see.
