Well there's an OVA out there that I haven't seen. But apparently a shinigami that no one's seen before is talking to Ryuk about his time on earth with Light.

A lot of people think this shinigami is Light.

There are 2 Specials actually, Re-Lights 1 & 2, and they have both been english dubbed.

They are just recaps of the 2 major story arcs in Death Note though.

Seriously, Thats the greatest idea i have heard for an anime series.

the series ended in a very nice way.. also, has few movies to be watched for.

well, the idea's not bad. but, like u said, some1 needs to write. the original writer ohba probably ended it cause he couldn't think of more ways for light to come out winning.

but, anyway. wat really made the death note fun was that it was a race to see which one out of l and light would discover the other's id first.

after l died, the series just dried up. i even gave up watching a few episodes later. i found out the end from wikipedia, cause it was such a drag.

There will never be a sequel for the series, it's over and done with xD.

The idea right at the top is what I (and many others, obviously you too XD) came up with. Thats what it wants to lead too, but they don't you think they would have made one by now?

As far as I know, deathnote producers are working on a manga called Bakuman, its different, bit slow at the start but pretty good in my opinion. (:

I honestly didn't like the ending of Deathnote. Aside from that I think a 2nd series wouldn't be so bad.

But if an anime is good, a second series wouldn't be a bad idea as long as it isn't repetitive like all the pokemon series.

It was a good run. Everything was pretty much wrapped up in Deathnote, and thats where the Manga version ended. No Deathnote 2 will ever come. Don't even think about it.
