Koby
If it's just Sage mode like when he fought Pain then the 4th would probably still win. If it's the Naruto that currently is in the manga, well hell he'd pretty much own every body he'd go up against. Naruto has just about become a god in the manga after learning all sorts of new abilities and how to finally take charge of the nine-tails. Nameless
Naruto in Sage mode : no , he can't defeat the 4th ; yeah , in current nine-tails maybe he can beat the crap out of the 4th , even if the 4th takes a single hit from naruto in his new nine-tails form , the 4th is gonna shit his pants . Otherwise , Naruto can't even dream to defeat the 4th , he's too damn powerful and skillful .
Koby
Well from what I've been told (I don't read the manga), while the 4th used teleportation for his speed, Naruto has just got the actual brute speed that actually is fast enough to surpass it. Meaning while the 4th used ninjutsu, Naruto simply is actually that fast. Meaning Naruto has finally actually surpassed the 4th. On top of that he has a much larger chakra reservoir as well as he was able to complete several technique's that the 4th wasn't ever able to complete according to Jiraiya. So pretty much the Naruto of the current manga has surpassed the 4th in pretty much every aspect. Which probably is about time since I figure he won't really get much more training in until about the final fight of the manga since it seems to be drawing to a close probably in the next year (the mangaka has already stated he has an ending in sight and isn't planning to draw out the series forever, unlike Bleach mangaka is). Granted, he did finish the rasengan, but that's about the only advantage he'd have over Minato. Minato not only has the Hiraishin, he has lightning fast reflexes, so I doubt he'd be touched by the Rasen-shuriken. Maybe, in a long drawn out battle, Naruto could win, through sheer stamina and chakra reserves, but Minato has speed, reflexes and experience, so he wouldn't let it turn into a battle of attrition. Koby
As far as I've been able to tell, Naruto doesn't have speed. Granted, he did finish the rasengan, but that's about the only advantage he'd have over Minato. Well as I said I don't read the manga, but according to RandomC is has gained the speed.http://randomc.net/2011/06/22/naruto-544-deja-vu/I don’t think anyone ever doubted that Naruto would start living up to his father’s potential and eventually surpass him, but in terms of sheer speed, it looks like he’s already done just that. Back in chapter 505, all eyes were on his newly acquired Kyuubi form, and I was personally wondering if he pulled off the flying god technique that Minato was renowned for. Thirty-nine chapters later, that’s clearly not the case anymore, as Naruto once again goes for the brute force-type development (i.e. simply moving that damn fast), rather than a more tactful teleportation approach. Ninja techniques were never his strong point, so in a way, it’s kind of cool to see Naruto continue to figure out how to do things his own way, just like he did with his three-handed Rasengan (…even if I still think it’s pretty handicapped way of pulling it off). It took longer than I imagined, but Raikage is finally convinced to let Naruto through. While a part of me wanted to see Tsunade step in, it’s hard to deny the impact of having Naruto prove himself to Raikage alone. A subtle implication from their exchange is that Naruto is now the fastest ninja in the world — a title that kind of (but not really) levels the playing field against Sasuke. That was the first case of deja vu, in relation to the flashback of Minato dodging A’s attack two chapters ago, whereas the second case was Madara taking a page out of Pain’s book and creating the Pain Rikudou, a.k.a. The Six Paths of Pain. I almost wanted to call out our ultimate antagonist’s lack of originality at the sight of the six Jinchuuriki he bestowed his eyes upon, but it has the whole nostalgia factor going for it. I just hope that it doesn’t come with a big deus ex machina again, regardless of how happy I am that Kakashi is alive from the first one.
RikuoAmero
Oh, I never saw that chapter. Yeah, from Tsunade thinking "A yellow flash", it seems like Naruto's learned the Hiraishin, so...my mistake. Although, as to how is not explained...only Minato knew the technique, so Naruto wouldn't have been able to learn it from say Jiraiya.

Hang on...if the Hiraishin uses teleportation, that means that whenever Minato used it, he never passed the intervening space between Point A and Point B, thus onlookers would never have seen a Yellow Flash, just him appearing suddenly at Point B. Seeing a Yellow Flash is understandable in Naruto's case, he is actually crossing the distance...ah f*ck it, I'm not gonna bother anymore.

Seeing a Yellow Flash is understandable in Naruto's case, he is actually crossing the distance...ah f*ck it, I'm not gonna bother anymore.Maybe teleportation isn't the right word for Minato. The Flying Thunder God Technique was a technique created by Minato Namikaze, allowing the user to transport himself to another location in the blink of an eye. Although it is often compared with the Body Flicker Technique, the speed and range of this technique are much greater. In principle, this technique is similar to the Summoning Technique, as it revolves around the manipulation of time and space rather than accelerated movement, but instead of bringing something to users, it sends them somewhere. The technique is fast enough to even allow Minato to escape Madara's Space–Time Migration, despite the latter already being in physical contact with him. Minato can also use this technique to teleport other objects, such as when he used it to teleport the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox out of Konohagakure, though the size of the object determines the amount of chakra required.andTo activate this technique, the user needs a special seal or "technique formula" (術式, jutsu-shiki) to mark the destination. After this is done, the user enters a dimensional void that instantaneously transports himself to the location of the seal. The technique can create smoke, similar to a Summoning Technique, but that is not always the case. Minato applied the formula in advance to weapons such as kunai. By giving one such kunai to a person, he can immediately teleport to that person at any time. He can also apply the mark to a touched area, such as his opponent or some other surrounding feature. Minato also incorporated the formula into his wife's seal, allowing him to come to her aid at all times. So you see Minato's technique isn't actually speed and it requires a seal placed elsewhere for him to be able to 'transport' himself or something else to that point.I don't think they called him 'Yellow Flash' because of seeing yellow left behind. As I don't recall anything shown in the flashbacks of the 4th using the technique in the anime. I think perhaps he got the name because of his yellow hair and everyone thought he was amazingly fast.Though as far as I can tell by searching.. it doesn't give proof towards why he was named that. All I found was:It is quite possible that this technique is reason behind his nickname, "Konoha's Yellow Flash" (木ノ葉の黄色い閃光, Konoha no Kīroi Senkō). saminyt
I think that the 4th would dominate mostly because of his speed and his sealing techniques. I know in the Kyuubi Chakra mode, Naruto is superfast but he still did not surpass the fourth in speed yet as stated by Yamato in chap 505 pg 13. As Minato will be fighting Sage mode, he can just seal off Naruto's sage chakra. But no one knows for sure. We have seen Naruto's full potential but Minato's is a mystery. Either way, I think that it would be an epic battle where both sides will have fair chance of winning.
shyguysteve
when naruto was brought to fight pain at the end of his sage training or w/e, the toad said that naruto either did surpass his master and by extension the 4th or could surpass them. I forgot really.as amateurish as naruto is I pick him, he doesn't quite have the skills at a master level but he's good enough to make them stronger then the ninja that have walked before him.
