LegendaryGirlA
Grave of the Fireflies. I also cried like a baby watching Voices of a Distant Star and Rumbling Hearts. Clannad was so boring I wanted to cry. I don't even know why I finished it and I still don't understand where the sad bit is.

lady_kurai
I watched all of Witch hunter robin and I have to agree that it had a sad ending. Grave of the Fireflies and Fullmetal Alchemist had sad endings too!
JackInverseSine
I'd have to say Pokemon, Ash is stuck with eternal youth, he can never grow older. The years keep on going and he still stays ten, even on his birthday he remains ten. What a sad existence.
nantris
Wolf's Rain was pretty sad! Everyone dies.I'd have to say Pokemon, Ash is stuck with eternal youth, he can never grow older. maddy
The real tear-jerker for me was the recently watched Angel Beats (by Clannad, Air, ... writer). Oh boy, I shed quite some tears when I got to the end *blush*

MagicalxLari
Grave of the Firefires... I can't even watch it a second time. Too heartbreaking... for the anime department would have to be the end of AIR :/
umerth
Angel Beats was a very good kind of sad. Darker than Black was very emotionally confusing and a little sad.
Nienna
I'm going to second (3rd, 4th?) Code Geass R2. I just finished it last week. OMG it's just too sad for words
TankerCyclone
I must say that Clannad was the saddest I ever watched. That series really left me heart broken, especially after Clannad After Story, and I'm a guy. It was really good; characters were well developed and the story line was pretty good for any slice-of-life anime I ever saw. It was so good that I'll never watch it again; just too sad.TankerCyclone
