O.o...there is even some i havent seen on that list!

If you want to start good and see what gundams really about but dont want anything too overwhelmin i suggest wing...different timeline not too old and an all round excellent gundam. If not wing then seed kicks ass aswel, tho a bit tacky a moments...

Of the list of Gundam's.. I have seen all except for:

Mobile Suit Victory Gundam (1993)

Gundam Evolve (2007)

After War Gundam X (1996)

Turn A Gundam (1999)

Gundam G-Saviour (2000) (probably will never see this shitty live-action film)

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - Awakening of the Trailblazer (2010)

Gundam is kind of like Final Fantasy, every series is a different world. The Wiki article should explain the various timelines, but the rule of thumb is that if the title is different (Seed, Wing, etc.), it's a different series. I personally haven't watched a lot of the earlier series (their format is a bit dated), but I've watched Seed and 00 and loved them both, so I'd recommend one of those two. They're generally really good whatever you decide to start on, as they combine mecha with some really interesting philosophy and political theory. Definitely on my recommendation list.
