I need a new anime to watch

Well like the title says I need a new anime to watch. The following list is what I am looking for in an anime (in order of importance it does not need to meet all but atleast one)

1) GOOD STORY WRITING - VERY IMPORTANT - this will need a bit of expilnation, i prefer stories that do not follow conventional ideas. I do not want to find myself saying I say it coming or knew it at every turn. If i am surprised by (resonable, ie. it makes sence in retrospect but not predicable) plot twists. Best Example - Elfen Leid

2) English dub, not saying I won't watch subs but I prefer english dubed

3) Purposeful Action (if the story allows), by this I mean more along of Bleach or Soul Easter other then DBZ, Bleach and Soul Eater both used action as a plot device, whereas DBZ action was the plot at some pionts. I do not have a problem with little to no action anime (Death Note is a prime example of this.)

4) Comedy, Let me be specific, comedy that fits in context nor interrupets the story. Bleach is a good example of this (mostly the earlier episodes.) I ask for comedy mostly for comixx relief of tense moments or to contrast these tense moments, such as the Door man in McBeth ( Shakespeare to those missed -or, more likely, skipped- English Class.)

I'll say again these are not ALL required, merely what I like about anime I watch and they are in order of nessecity, in other words I wouldn't mind watching a Death Note like show in Japanesse.

Thank you, I have seen Inu Yasha and Naruto (thought about putting a list of all the anime I've seen, but it's quite a list.)

Moon Phase and Orphen both seem quite interesting and I'll dig for a little more information about about Mahoromatic (current opinions based on thw wikipedia pages.)

On further recommendations, I would like to say that Elfen Leid is one of my Favrite anime, NOT for the nudity or blood and gore (I would say it not have been as good without it, the scene when they release the third-gen Diclonius and she kills her "mother" would not have been as impactful with acaully witnessing the death) but fot the story which would only make total sence if you watch it begin to end. It's also added (dark, very dark) comedy, (Bando telling Lucy "Not fair..." when she points a gun at him.)

if you haven't allready seen it Ruroni Kenshin meets all your criteria and is in my opinion the best action anime series ever made, but it is on the more realistic side of things which bleach and dbz are not.

Gunslinger Girl, there are two different versions of this, the first was done before the manga was finished, the second done later. I have not seen the second though I have heard good things, but I can vouch for the first. First and foremost it has an excellent story, it is a bit more serious so there is not much humor, but it is an excellent action series and a slight tear jerker

Samurai Champloo, story is good but it capitalizes on action and comedy in even amounts, has a hip hop slant to it (I personally hate rap and hip hop culture, but I had no problem whatsoever with this), the story doesn't reach any real depth until halfway through but it is descent.

Baccano has a descent amount of action but it capitalizes on several stories that occur simultaneously, it's basic idea is that for any event there are as many stories as there are people to tell them. It was very well done, however it jumps around a lot in the beginning and you can't really figure out what is going on until halfway through as it skips between 2 time periods and 2 locations. Some people are put off by this, but if you can be patient until half-way through your in for a real treat. Also meats your comedy requirements almost exactly.

also, if you haven't seen them, cowboy bebop, trigun, bamboo blade, basilisk (lot of action, good story, not much comedy), Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Dragonaut the Resonance, My Hime, and Fate/Stay Night

Also, if you don't mind venturing outside the action genre a bit

Great Teacher Onizuka, an ex gang member becomes a teacher, has a lot of comedy and a descent story, a good watch all around

School Rumble, mainly comedy, action is minimal, the story and plot are not predictable, but they are a bit random and I wouldn't call it spectacular, but it is my favorite comedy and is related to action vaguely. May not be up your alley, but worth mentioning if you want to venture out of the action genre a bit

If you read the part of my action requirements, it's only if it has action then it must carry a purpose in terms of the plot. Bleach for example, has almost all the fights give something to the plot (I'm only counting non-filler material as most of the fillers only carry their own (barely half-desent plot.) DBZ accually was discredited in the my requirements as they had to make it along side the magna which ment they had to stretch out or even invent fight sequences (frieza's and SSJ Goku fought for "five minutes," it was accually closer to 100 minutes on screen,) but I was not asking for an action anime specifficly only if you were to reccamend one let the action be a part of the plot, I am perfectly content with a little to action anime, in some cases I prefer them if the conflict is still interesting such as Death Note (I am aware that it had a few physical fight sences such as when Lite and L fight when connected by 3-feet of chain.)
