What laptop do you guys recommend for my sister?

Shes those kind of people who use use msn,webcam and skype a lot. Her laptop was not even able to last for two years ==' Shes got a **** load of virues that leech our net making my ping around 500ms when I play in a local server sometimes even 1000. She doesn't even have a anti-virus (GOD HELP ME!) She was thinking of getting a Mac book. She does also need it for her school work. Which laptop best suits her =='

First I would get her some antivirus software, if money is tight, some free ones are avast, avira, and avg. A good place to find antivirus and spyware software as well as some other software goodies is http://majorgeeks.com. While I do trust this site, for the most part, I still recommend downloading any software from the developers home site. A quick googling of the software could also help prevent "unwanted difficulties."

As for the laptop I would recommend a asus eeepc netbook. They have a built in webcam, and also come with skype preinstalled. Their lite weight and have good battery life. Doing your homework on any potential buys is recommended as well because some models are hard to upgrade, if they even offer the ability to upgrade at all. For example my sister and I both have netbooks, mine is an eeepc 1000HE, and hers is some kind of HP. Her's is newer and in all honesty has a better layout, but it isn't possible to upgrade ram. You can't upgrade the HD without taking the entire thing apart because its buried behind the case. On the other hand, mine has a nice big door on the back that allows me to quickly upgrade both ram and HD. HaHaHas aside, all I'm really trying to say here is some laptop models are designed to be obsolete at launch, and only homework can prevent you from being stuck with a lemon.

The eeepcs aren't really made for games but I have gotten alot or my old emu roms to run it, and who doesn't love playing the Knights of the Round arcade where ever they want.

Hope this can help, if you have any other questions just ask.

I would recommend a mac, if she attracts a lot of viruses. I've had my mac for 3.5 years and have yet to get a virus. HOWEVER on mac she can't use her webcam for MSN but if she really needs it she can just instal windows on it with either bootcamp or virtual box. I have virtual box on mine and it works great, however it should only be used if your going to run 1-3 windows only programs, since I'm not sure if you can change the memory of the OS once you set it.

My personal choice of laptop is somthing from the upgraded acer aspire serise. it's never let me down and to a certain extent fairly cheap i got mine for around £200. still it depends on what you see and belive as reliable source, in truth i'd much rather have a towered PC somthing i can fidle with and make better.

How much is the spending limit??? The last laptop I bought is very good and performs well..

Never had a problem with and does any and everything i want it to.. Comes with alot of software to do almost anything... Don't cost that much but the price is still up their..

Link---> HP Pavilion dv7-4069wm Laptop

i would recommened the pavillion series as well...we have three of the buggers in total, they come with some brilliant software pre installed and are defo worth the larger price tag...

not to mention they look very good!! ^^
