Afternoon Nap
How can you be sure that all the screw holes of different components are aligned? I don't get any of this. Thanks! Edited May 5, 2016 by Afternoon Nap
Koby
Most aftermarket cases will universally have screw holes in the right places for most mobos. I've never had an issue in that regard. The main thing is getting a cooler that isn't too tall that it won't fit inside the width of the case. For the most part you can also utilize http://pcpartpicker.com which will in most cases alert to you any compatibility issues with your parts.
Vaux
There's only a few different styles: ATX being the most common, is a full size board with 4 PCI slots MATX is a micro version of ATX and has only 2 PCI slots MITX gained more popularity recently, Micro ITX board has 1 PCI slot A ATX case will fit a MATX board as well, but not the other way around, and a MITX board only fits in a MITX case. PCI slots are standardised and so are all the cards that go in them so there no problem, Graphics cards can be 2 slots high.

ZeroPenguins
Most consumer parts are they are industry standards, so I wouldn't worry. Unless you're getting a customised motherboard and case, I wouldn't worry too much about it
Menhir
The ATX format is constructed in such a way that there's some compatibility even at different sizes A case that ascertains to fit a form factor will necessarily have all the holes from said form factor Edited May 13, 2016 by Menhir
