I like the tactics franchise, but especialy the first one in the PSone

I have to agree, but I'm also torn. You see FF2 is what got me into gaming in the first place. It was quite literally my first rpg ever so it will always be special to me.

But from a pure enjoyment factor the gameplay/story of tactics was my favorite of the series.

and FF7 is FF7 it was completely groundbreaking.

I started playing the series when the first one came out on the nes (yeah i"m old) but i'd have to say final fantasy vi is my favorite. Kefka is the most deranged villian in the series so far and the only one to actually "destroy the world". I got it for my snes when it was orginally released as final fantasy III and Sabin is still the most bad ass character in my opinion so far. After that, i'd have to say ix, iv, then x.

Personally everyone is going to shoot me but i loved 10-2. I'm a huge yuna/rikku fan, and when i heard a sequel to 10 was coming out I preordered it right away. Also the soundtrack is so good :). Also 4 was a good game, but as far as im concerned 7 is overated. Alot of people say it was the best but, they are just going with what the critics say. It was groundbreaking for its time, but it cannot compare graphic/battle system wise to todays ff's.

Firstly I will point out that FF1-6 were out of my time, I was brought up when FF7 was making the biggest hit and it was also the first one I played. I own FF1-6 but I don't feel I can fully appreciate them since I played FF7 before and quite frankly I had played FF8 and FF9 before them too and now they seem too dated to enjoy.

My all-time favorite was FF10, the voice-acting (although many hated) was superbly delivered in my opinion. They say that Tidus' voice acting was monotone but I thought it fit perfectly. I loved the system, I loved the characters and the mini-games were fun. The only gripe I have is you don't get to control your airship flying around the world like FF7-9.

FF7 was awesome, materia system was the main highlight for me, I liked the characters and story line. FF8 was good too, I love it mainly because of the card game system, but I did like most of the characters and moombas!! Story line was ok not great.

FF13 ranks strangely low, for some reason I feel like although you can change the roles of the characters you couldn't customise it on a level where you control how they play their role, didn't like it that much, BUt the CG was amazing to look at lol and the story and characters again were good. Game play kinda sucked being so linear but it was acceptable.

FFX-2 was pretty good, I liked the system for combat and customising character role. I felt a little uncomfortable playing it at times without a male lead, but you get used to it. I felt the story was OK for a sequel, I generally go with the idea all sequels will have fairly terrible stories and Rikku was the only character out of the 3 girls I really liked, the other 2 were so-so.

FF9 was....odd. Didn't really understand what was going on half the time and the 'world' was sorta...wierd. I didn't like the characters to be honest (except Vivi) and the story was not great either.

FF12, I hated it. Well, I didn't hate it enough to not play it, but I didn't like how the main character was just a tag-along and not central to the story. It could have been any thief running into the castle, it wouldn't have mattered. He could have died halfway through and it wouldn't have mattered. Atleast the Viera looked kinda hot.
