1080 vs 720

It depends on many things, but I'm going to say no, it's not really worth it*. 


 


Situation dependant though, if you are going to be watching it a 60"+ screen, then maybe (depending on source and who encoded it) you would notice a difference watching 1080p. Otherwise for the average 23-37" monitor, 720p is more than enough.

Probably not. Most anime is drawn at 720p these days.

1080p is always better to download from decent encoders such as Coalgirls. However, the dual audio community prefers 720p. They are all about compression; saving disk space regardless of how bad they make their releases.

Well if you train your eyes to tell the difference you can usually tell the difference between a 720 and 1080 even if something is even lower quality than that. I trained my eyes to tell the difference so I would prefer 1080 over anything only if it is a good upscale but other than that if its a true re-master like Yu Yu Hakusho blu-rays, I prefer them.
