SenshiKeizu
Okay so I own a Galaxy S4, and whenever I connected it to my PC, it would charge and bring up the Autoplay window. However now for some reason it won't, whenever I connect it to my PC, it would charge and not bring up the Autoplay window. I had a friend over, and he tried charging his Xperia Z2 with my PC, and it wouldn't charge or bring up the Autoplay window! I something wrong with my USB inputs or cables? I tried different cables, none of them worked (although they work with the wall outlet). I don't think my inputs are broken 'cause I'm using: A keyboard, a mouse, a controller, and a mic so they all work fine. Please I need help. Arian
Have you tried plugging in any other memory devices like a flash drive or External Hard Drive? If they don't work either, it's definitely a software issue. Get back to me on that, and we'll go from there.
lemmingllama
Does your phone work on other computers?Did you try plugging the cords into different USB drives?Have you made any recent changes on your computer that would affect your autoplay features?Does your device show up in your file explorer?Have you changed your device so it will now register as a "charge only" or a USB mass storage device? We need a couple more details before we can figure out whats up.

I plugged in different USB drives, no luck. I don't think so, Autoplay still works for CDs and Hard Drives. Device does NOT show up in file explorer. There are only two options media transfer and mass storage, none of them connect.

lemmingllama
Drivers. Check them. I keep getting this issue: Try running as Administrator or give yourself all permissions possible for it, then retry it. If that still doesn't work, it means that something is horribly wrong with your USB drive
SenshiKeizu
Okay so when I upgraded to Windows 8.1, the phone now connects. I'm guessing there was some kind of bug, or that I had too many programs installed. Finally glad it works.
Arian
So it was a software issue. Yeah that's the easiest way to fix it. I know I hate it when that happens. Glad to hear all is well.
SenshiKeizu
Yeah. Even though I ain't a big fan of it, there's no denying that it is a lot snappier and has less bugs than Windows 7. Oh how I'll miss it.
