Koby
Anyone know an easy way (or a program) to crack a Wi-Fi passcode? Also while we're at it... has anyone ever tried a Wi-Fi extender/booster? If so how well do they work? Does it help strengthen the signal of weak Wi-Fi signals? Curious about connecting to the Wi-Fi connections I pick up at my house from neighbors, businesses, and the hotel down the road... None of them appear to be open though, hence why I'm seeing if it's possible to crack the passcodes.
Sinistra
I am assuming you are "piggybacking" on someones wi-fi. Pass code hacking or cracking would get you in more trouble. If its a company they find out you cracked their pass code they can press charges. As for boosters they don't work all that well.
lemmingllama
It isn't easy to crack, unless they use a really simplistic password. You could probably download or create a program that will enter passcodes using a dictionary attack, that might get a code if you are lucky and have several days to spare. There is no really good way of doing it. A simple bruteforce would also work, but would take way too long. As for wifi boosters, just get a better router. It should give you a better signal. Either that or move your router to a place where most of the computers can get a good signal.

JohnFlower
Just thought that I would post what was stated in your other thread... If the router is using WPA/-2 encryption without WPS enabled, it will be next to impossible to crack. If the router is using WPA/-2 encryption and has WPS enabled, then it is possible to crack given time (read: given ~10 hours). If the router is using WEP encryption, then cracking should be pretty straight forward, and can be done in minutes. Aka Gambit
Lol 2 Mile Radius http://wifisniper.com/products.htmlThis seems like such a scam. Also looks like something you'd see in a cop show for surveillance.I used to know of a wifi cracker but I have forgotten it, I'll talk to some of my friends and see if they still have the link. Also keep in mind that they may also have mac address filtering and if they do then its impossible to get in without a mac address spoofer. On top of that there is also software that can detect unauthorized access and kick/ban you from the wifi. So even if you do crack the wifi you could still not be able to get in. Draximum
I'm actually pretty good at this. I got taught how to do this in college and still have my teachers tutorial videos. WPA2 your gonna have a hell of a time doing though, its not worth your time if that's what it is in my opinion. WEP on the other hand is a cinch.
