This is mostly a thread for participants, but you can definitely drop some words of encouragement even if you aren't participating!You can double post for word count shoutouts and whatever, but be reasonable--if your last shoutout was 3k, doing one at 3.5k is pretty silly and it'll look like you're trying to procrastinate. But, as they say, the only thing more fun than writing a novel in a month is procrastinating on that novel.Weather permitting, because I'm on the east coast and I might be swept away in the storm, I'll be doing at least one write-in a week (hopefully twice a week). I was going to write up my thread in about an hour, after getting out the shower....lmao.Anyhoo, I CAN'T FRICKING WAIT. I've recently discovered that there is a very large wrimo community here in Brisbane and am psyked to see what they're like. I'm also going to do a very ambitious group of stories, all in a horror/thriller/slasher general style a la Lovecraft meets E. A. Poe. I think I'm going to be way out of my depth, but oh well...Now, my little narcissistic moment aside, with all intent on finishing my comment logically, what is everyone planning on doing?! Thrillers, not so much. The idea was originally brought up cause of the KamWri comp I entered, but I have since decided to butcher it for names and ideas and re work it into something new. See, I'm green, I recycle. *ahem*I've never actually written porn. Might be a laugh to work it in. I mean, the format I'm aiming for means that it could be done, but it'd have to be some pretty hardcore SM stuffs.... thanks for the thought....I like 39, but I wasn't sure what you were planning to do with it. The longest one I saw on AO3 had 280k.Haha, I've written porn, but it's been a while since the last time I did. And while any place may be good for writing it, it's not going to stop me from feeling weird about it when there might be kids around!But yeah, I'm hoping being out of the apartment will boost my productivity, because whenever I have stuff I have to do, I suddenly feel like scrubbing the bathtub and cleaning the kitty litter every hour and, wow, I think I'm gonna find out how many sit-ups I can do in one day, that sounds awesome. Being out in a group and feeling obligated to work should keep me in my seat, haha. And I read that one of the places doesn't have Wifi unless you pay for a membership or whatever, so I'll have even less reason to procrastinate--I don't do a lot of gaming on my laptop, so there isn't much installed on it. The only thing I'm counting is new fiction, haha. At the end of it I want to have between 80k-90k and then whittle it closer to 80k in revisions. A lot of my prose is pretty sparse as I travel through the story, so it's going to inflate at first during revisions next year. Official NaNoEdMo is in March, so I think that'll be about the time I pick it up again to go over. In the meanwhile, I'm going to pick through some of my other projects or maybe plan out the sequel to this NaNo. I doubt that'll get very far since I need to fix canon first, haha. Hope everyone who did NaNo won!I am going to end up with some coupons that I don't need, so if I don't have any takers on Facebook, I'll let you guys know what I have. I'm pretty much never going to use Dragon and I don't need another coupon for Scrivener.Tonight we're going to a TGIO party. I usually aim for 2k a day for a projected finish by the 25th.There's a Camp NaNo in April according to this list that I might do. Going to tackle editing my NaNovel for this year in January.
