Anime battle royale

Ok, so in light of the PS3's new brawler game and the success of smash bros brawl, what do you think of a anime-esk version. Where anime characters from across numerous shows come together to kick the crap out of each other.

Surely the conceot is perfect? Anime is already 2D and has such a vast array of characters that putting togther an awesome cast would be a piece of cake. Not to mention that numerous characters in anime already have special moves, sayings etc so thats half the work done.

what do you think kametsu denizens?

Its something I personally would love to see.

Who would you like to see in such a game?

I have been pondering over the same idea myself these past few months and I thought it would be an EPIC idea!!!!!!!!!! I love Super Smash Bros on the nintendo, it is one of my most played games so if there ever was an anime version of the game then I would just play it forever and ever no questions about it. Characters that come to mind for the game would be characters from DBZ, Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha...heck the list goes on. COME ON GAME DEVELOPERS!!! Im sure there is a good vast amount of people who would love a game like this! Let it be made!!!!!

I would buy that game within a heartbeat of it being out. I have thought of a similar idea before. Let me consult MAL and come up with a decent roster.

Kamina (TTGL)

Ryner Lute (Legend of Legendary Heroes)

Ichigo (Bleach)

Naruto (Naruto)

Luffy (One Piece)

Zoro (One Piece)

Lad Russo (Baccano)

Revy (Black Lagoon)

Gennousuke Koga (Basilisk)

Black Rock Shooter (same as name)

Bobobo (Bobobo)

Clare (Claymore)

Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop)

Shizuo Hewajima (DRRR)

Lucy (Elfen Lied)

Saber (Fate/Stay/Zero)

Alric Brothers (FMA)

Kei (Gantz)

The Major (GitS)

Alucard (Hellsing)

Panty and Stocking [would be a tagteam character like pokemon trainer or zelda/sheik] (Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt)

Mugen (Samurai Champloo)

Tsume (Wolf's Rain)

And as a joke, I would love to see the Rapeman from the Rapeman...

Yeah such a game would definately be pretty cool, but they'd have to respect the character's powers otherwise it's gonna suck big time.

One problem is that not all the characters fight the same way, there's a fair amount of swordplay but also guns, luffy, crazy lucy power, naruto (taking lleming's list) and probably others who have weird ways of fighting, I don't know half of the characters on the list.

With many different ways of fighting it would be pretty hard to make an equilibrated game.

The main problem is probably all the licenses you need to acquire/pay for in order to be able to use all those characters in a game. This is probably why it has never been made and may never be.

Also I would add to your list Ein or/and Zwei from Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ and Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin, and probably some characters from Jormungand.

And about L, how would he fight ? I mean it's not like he fights alot physically.

most anime characters fight in a deus ex machina fashion anyway, so balance would be more of a case of making the numbers match up or giving them stamina bars or certain weaknesses; Luffy can't swim etc.

But if Nintendo can match jigglypuff againts snake in SBB then I'm sure a we could find a workaround:D

This.

It would be too much of a headache. It would be much more practical to make a anime style fighting game with original chracters (Guilty Gear, Blaz Blue) or a anime series specific game. Mugen probably is the closest we'll get. Though I thought that whole thing was near death by now.
