† Anras Rune
Well it seems the time is coming. After a multitude of rumours floating about Bethesda finally said they'd be releasing info on their upcoming games this month, and that ESO could be among them. So what do you guys think of this, an MMO rumoured to be set during the Second Era in the Elder Scrolls timeline, or a thousand years before skyrim? What would you guys like to see in this game? How many factions other than the three that have been rumoured? Give me your opinions on the matter, I'd love to see what folks think! Here is some source material you guys might like to read...http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/122/1224248p1.htmlhttp://www.metro.co.uk/tech/games/898195-first-elder-scrolls-online-details-and-first-screens
Xanodus
Ooh, if this is true, I would certainly love to play it! I love the Elder Scrolls, and an online play would be really something! However, I really hope they try and stick to the same story concept, but perhaps swicth out some enemies with online players. I don;t want to have all this stuff all over the screen like all other Online RPG games I see nowadays on the net. But, considering the company is Bethesda, and if the game even gets made, I'm sure it will be a great play. Now, for the price... How much money will I have to spit up now? xD
lemmingllama
Honestly, I cant see this being a great thing. Most likely, the quality will be reduced and there will be monthly fees. Also, skill sets and armor sets will have to be set up for better ranking, and PVP would be hard to run. All in all, I cant see this working all that well. But I guess we will wait and see. One other thing is that then we probably wont get more single-player Elder Scroll games, and Bethesda might just turn out like Blizzard and just focus on their one money-making MMO

They would invest lots of money and probably the best games they've produced like Skyrim and Oblivion, would be wasted into this new RPG game. There goes all of the time wasted that we could possibly want a new game for the PS3 or PC or something.
osborn_2009
i'm sure it will be a good game in its own respects. it will hold its own in its style of play for rpg. bethesda is a great company. i do NOT think this will make them shy away from any future Elder Scrolls single player RPGs on consoles though. they have several different teams that work on games and they will have a team specifically for this one as well as all their other games. I cant wait to try this out =)

It would be interesting to see how it turns out but it will be pretty crap if it is inclusive of monthly fees.

† Anras Rune
wow, people really don't know how the gaming industry works. Bethesda Softworks is publishing the game, not developing. This means that Bethesda Game Studios, a development team, will have nothing to do with the game as the developer is ZeniMax Online. So they will still churn out Elder Scrolls games and Obsidian will still develop Fallout games as will all their other development houses. You don't spend the better part of a decade buying up franchises only to chuck it out the window for an mmo. Seriously. As to the set up, of course the quality will have to go down, its an mmo! You can't expect Skyrim graphics and the likes on a game being designed to have thousands of players on at a time. Also, every single rpg game has the simple levels dictate strength adage. As for PVP....why? Why would it be hard to run? I mean the Elder Scrolls magical system is simple to say the least, as is combat... so why would it be hard? Koby
I'd love this if it was free to play. Many companies are going that way with their MMO's and it's been proven that even being free to play it can still make a buck load of money. It allows a lot more people to get into it, but they can still offer other incentives to paying monthly for it. Such as the ability for more characters, bigger banks, and other stuff.
