Koby
For HQ .avi XVID videos I'd recommend getting "AutoMen". You can google to find it, I can't remember where I got it.For .mp4 that are compatible with iPods, etc.. I recommend using "WinFF".. I believe their website is http://winff.org

Ulukia
I use FormatFactory. Best I've used when dealing with MKVs with multiple audio streams and subtitles.

Crazie
I'm trying out the http://winff.org right now to see how it works with RMVB files. How does it do against MKV files to convert to Ipod m4v format? Most of the time I just use Avanti to convert MKV to AVI and then use a tiny little Japanese Converter I found way back in the day by the name of something like "3GP Converter". It was a tiny little green iconed standalone program. I have it if anyone wants a copy of it. The Quality is really good from what it puts out. Just send me a message and I can help out. Crazie
Hey thanks for the reply man. I just tried Winff to convert straight from RMVB to M4V. I'm fairly impressed. Just tried EP.1 of Ergo-Proxy and the picture wasn't that bad. The version of the video I have is Japanese Lang / English Subs. The Subs themselves were fairly small but that is to be expected. They were still readable on an Ipod 80 gig.I'll give what you just suggested a try as well.Ahh. Yeah. I've tried Media Coder before. I wasn't all to impressed at the time I used it. But of course that could have been user error and not program as well.

arranf
It might be easier to instead of converting find a program that will transcode I know there is a program that does this for the PS3 (PS3 Media Server) so it's quite possible there is one for the Xbox 360.
