But Ghost in the Shell with it's detailed world of secret government special forces groups and conspiracies is I think more involving. It's like a real version of a possible sci-fi future Japan. I was so impressed when I first saw it, and then I understood what all the enthusiastic talk about this anime was about. DrumRoll Posted January 29, 2012 Report Share Posted January 29, 2012 I may be one of the odd ones but I just saw Akira last year and Ghost in the Shell about a month ago and honestly I didn't like Akira and Ghost in the Shell I thought was... just 'ok'.I concur. altough I haven't watched all of GITS (lol) but I just seemed a tad to slow for my tastes. Less 'in my face' than Akira felt to me. That scene at the end with Spider Tank taking on The Major sticks with me.
