† poetictragedy
I like the brushes (at least I think they're brushes) you used in the last two signatures. Instead of blurring your render, try blurring your background. The render should be the focus point of the whole signature. To spice up your text, download ones you like from here. Try some of these tutorials. Tutorials are a good way to learn new tips and tricks, then you can mix and match them in your own signatures. Also, I believe adding a border gives your signature a finished look. Look here and here for instructions on how to add a border in GIMP.
Trend
Ok the best advice I can give you at the moment is to just play with gimp for a bit trying out how everything works as well as watch or read some sig tutorials. Originality is a big part of sig making but you can't be original if you don't know how to use it haha, so here are some vids I used to get started: Also check out our very own Shazi's sig making school here:http://forums.kametsu.com/showthread.php?t=13765[Edit] Found another tutorial that you might find helpful:http://forums.kametsu.com/showthread.php?t=14088&highlight=tutorialIf you need to add more brushes to your collection check out this website (go to the search bar and search, for example; splat brush) :http://www.deviantart.com/Don't know how to add brushes? here is a tutorial: lacking in fonts? check out this website:http://www.dafont.com/
† Irish
the one thing im not seeing is blending of the text. it would look a lot better if you blended the text into the sig or art. it does look like you understand use colors that are relevant to the sig... Next time when you make a sig or art, try to replicate a scene or put them into some landscape..for example. I tried to replicate Ichigo falling during the fight with grimmjow(this is when I first started too...)

Sebastian
Thanks and do you think the last one I made for my dad is the best?
Asch
Hmm........I will say go with proper proportions, and ratio, now placement of the render is important too, follow the rules of third for it. The last thing at present you can do is to blend the render well with background.

† Ferocia Coutura
Just as a rule of thumb, don't do anything to the render that covers its face or makes it harder to see. Try not to blur it as it should be the clearest thing on the sig. Other than that, really good for your first sigs!!!! Just make a whole bunch and you'll improve greatly!!!
