PhoenixPress Posted October 2, 2018 Report Share Posted October 2, 2018 When I was a kid I would have said "Kai," as in those days I preferred adaptations which rigidly adhered to the manga. These days I have to say "Z." I don't have time for both manga and anime anymore, so when an adaptation doesn't deviate at all I have no reason to pick up both. If I've read the manga, I don't need to watch the anime, and the same in reverse. I'm at a point where what I want are different adventures with the same characters, and as long as those characters and their world are portrayed faithfully in a way which respects the source material, then I'm completely happy. For that reason, I really don't mind filler--especially filler that isn't just "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" for twenty minutes. Episodes like Goku and Piccolo learning how to drive are awesome.
