W.I.T.C.H.E.S.

This is like the back of a book to a story I have been working on for about two years now. Please enjoy and do not comment here, this thread will be just for the story. Thank you. Enjoy...

What happens when your life is turned upside down?

Lilith-Victoria Elizabeth Valentine hated her life. Her father abandoned her and her brother when she was nine. Ever since then, she took care of her four year old brother and her now drunk of a mom.

Now Lilith is 17, and she really only has one friend. Always the outcast, she befriended new student Beth Cross, who is just as ‘weird’ as her. They both like Casablanca, and Edgar Allen Poe, and both have naturally odd-colored hair.

But what happens when Beth tells something that changes her life forever; that Lilith is a witch, just like Beth. Now Lilith has to decide whether to ignore Beth and continue her life in Sulfur, Pennsylvania, or to join the secret, world-wide company, W.I.T.C.H.E.S.

What will she decide, and how can she cope with the harsh reality that she is not the boring girl she always thought she was, but that she is a Witch?

Chapter 1 on April 10th!

Chapter 0: Prophecy

The woman lays there, on her throne of leaves. Fluttering her broad, stain-glass butterfly wings, she whispers to herself in a melodic tone.

Oh how soon, how soon

Will the dreams come to an end.

Being brought to the brink,

By both foe, and by friend.

Where the Aether lies key,

Along side the chosen.

Leaving the world in anguish,

And its people, all frozen.

Though there are always two paths,

As is always with life.

These chosens could also save the world,

And end all it’s strife.

Chapter 1: Life

The first thing I noticed in the field was the moon. It was an eerie giant, orange in color. And it made my skin crawl. I, Lilith-Victoria Elizabeth Valentine, am lost.

“Helloooo”, I screamed at the top of my lungs. “Is anybody there?” I’ve been walking in this field for what I assume is an hour now and I have no idea where the hell I am going. The only thing I can see is the forest to my left. “No way in hell I’m going in there,”

I muttered to myself under my breath. My feet were starting to hurt, so I sat down in the grass and moaned. It was very soft, and my feet were grateful not to be walking anymore. As I laid there, thinking about how I’m going to get home, I heard a sound.

I shot up and noticed someone walking out of the woods towards me. I couldn’t make out what the person looked like because I was too far away. “Heeeeey! Do you know where we are?” The person stopped and I realized it was a woman. I could see her long hair flowing in back of hers.

I started running towards her and after about ten seconds I stopped. I could see her perfectly now, and I noticed some oddities about her. She had black hair that was tinted with purple, like me. She was completely naked.

And she had a tail.

She started walking towards me again, although crept would be a more suitable word for the way she walked. Her heels never touched the ground and her tail was swaying back and forth. I felt like I was her prey.

I began to back up, getting a little scared, when put her hand up to stop me. I felt oddly compelled to listen to her, and stopped. She came up next to me and stared into my eyes. Lifting her arm up, she caressed my face and I felt both scared and calm at the same time. She whispered something to me but I couldn’t make it out.

“What did you say,” I whispered back to her.

“It is time,” she responded.

And that’s when I woke up.

I sprang up at the sound of the school bell ringing. “It was just a dream,” I whispered to myself. I must’ve fallen asleep in study hall… again. It was weird. The dream felt so real.

Walking home, I thought about getting to see my best friend, Beth Cross. More accurately, though, she is my only friend. She moved to Sulfur, Pennsylvania about a month ago because her dad co-managed our local toy factory. Instead of her going to Sulfur High School, though, her parents enrolled her in the private school on the other side of town, C.F. Grande Academy.

I met Beth at Starbucks last month and we hit it off right away. I asked her if I could borrow her pen and somehow that led to us hanging out in the mall the next day. Her being my friend caught me off guard, though, because I haven’t had an actual friend in years. I never had time for them, not that anyone ever wanted to be friend with the school freak, anyways.

Anyways, I meet up with her every other day at Jerry’s before going home. Jerry’s is this café that we both love going to. It’s nice to hear people recite poetry in a darkened room. It gives it more mood in my opinion.

I walk into Jerry’s and see Beth sitting at our usual booth. It’s hard not to miss her, with her unnaturally blood-red hair. Already I feel at ease. I very much cherish the time I spend away from my house with Beth.

She looks up and smiles. “Hey, Lilith,” she whispers as I sit down across from her. “You missed the best poem! It was about two lost loves who couldn’t find each other until the very end of their lives! I shed a tear.”

“Aw, sucks I missed it,” I grinned. She already had my vanilla frappe on the table. Gosh I’m predictable.

After hanging in Jerry’s for about two hours, I reluctantly realized it was time to go home. “Hey, Beth, I got to go. It’s my turn to cook tonight and my brother will be pissed if I’m not home by 6:00.”

She looked up and smiled. “It’s cool.” I looked at her oddly. She sounded…off.

“Is everything alright?”

She looked surprised and grinned. “Yeah, I’m alright. I just have a lot on my mind.” She paused, and started again. “Hey, Lilith, do you think we could meet at my house tomorrow?”

I looked at her. Not only was she acting strange, but she never invited me to her house before, nor have I back. We sort of just hung out elsewhere. “Um, sure thing! Just give me the address and I’ll be there at 4:00, okay?”

She wrote down her address and looked at me seriously. “Lilith, make sure your there tomorrow. Its very important, okay.”

“I’ll be there,” I assured, not knowing that tomorrow was the day that would change my life forever.
