DEATHxxx50bmg
have you noticed that people arent actually getting dumber but more like losing common sense. like people who look down the receiving end of a firearm while its loaded. just and example. what do you think
VolvoKing
I agree, but I notice with driving people are not so much using loosing common sense but they are more stubborn. More what I call the ME generation. It's Me me me the heck with you.

Kekashi
I don't think it's losing Common Sense as it is Common Sense isn't being taught anymore. Same for discipline, and respect.
big_teddy
I still think common sense is still being taught. I have children and teach them there p's and q's, stop and look both ways before you cross the street and so on. I think VolvoKing is on the right page on this. But more on the lines of everybody does the samething, if he does that to me, why should I for another. ie. not holding the door open for another individual. I know a lot of parents that don't teach there kids that. they don't really teach their kids much of anything. They expect the public school and government to teach them stuff.I think VolvoKing is on the right page on this. They expect the public school and government to teach them stuff.I should've clarified my point a bit better. I do agree with your point, because I know parents who are exactly like that. It's truly sad to see a parents such as you've mentioned can't even teach their own child the basics of right or wrong and leave to others.I will give you that is a good factor in it, but it's like Infantry11Bravo said, People just aren't doing smart things anymore. like looking down the barrel of a loaded gun, or trying to cross a five lane highway where there is no crosswalk, but just a few yards away there is one. like I said, I don't believe that Common Sense is being taught anymore because you have so many people doing stupid things.Agreed, the day when people take into consideration how fragile a life, let alone there own. The better we will be as a society.
VolvoKing
I think the luxury of technology is dampening common sense by not letting people think on there feet or on the fly so to speak. It's like I don't know where to go because my GPS is broken and I don't know how to read a map.
DrumRoll
people don't have time for common sense anymore........they have to update their facebook profile and tweet about how their mundane live is progressing.
Kasoivc
people don't have time for common sense anymore........they have to update their facebook profile and tweet about how their mundane live is progressing.Too true'mate. I think I get tired of seeing what people are doing about as much as the people who complain about their "horrible" lives. Common Sense, I don't think is taught - it is something experienced, something rationally logical. "I won't cross the street because there are a lot of fast cars zooming by... if I get hit - I'll probably die, so I won't cross the street."On the flip side, those who don't follow common sense will cross that street, thinking that oncoming traffic will "swerve" out of the way to avoid them; when in reality the drivers also follow this non-common sense usage and obviously speed up to hit the jaywalker.Common sense is literally not something that can be efficiently taught. It's general knowledge that people should already know, it comes from personal experiences and one's own code of morals I believe.
seirachan
people don't have time for common sense anymore........they have to update their facebook profile and tweet about how their mundane live is progressing. This is true. Why I really didn't care about that crap. Too busy.. ya know doing something smart or actuality doing my school work instead of running to facebook and pretending to work. Sometimes I walk across while people have stop signs and they still almost hit me or just mad at me when I try to walk across the turning side(which has a stop sign) when it takes me 3 hours to get somewhere that's less then 30 minutes to them. As the pedestrian I always have to assume everyone is gonna hit me cause they have no common sense. If I as the pedestrian have the right away they seem to think they are king shit cause they have wheels and own the road and seem to try to hit me. Of course I have common sense and avoid getting hit. I just know I'm gonna finger the next guy who almost does.Once some stupid bitches were in a taxi at the stop sign so I walk across and they start yelling at me that I have to wait. I don't see a stop sign for pedestrians... god they were so stupidthere's a lot more but that's what is grinding my gears right now
Hedgecat
Reminds me of something I read at one point a while back. I'll assume you know who Bill Nye is, and with that, I believe he was giving a lecture to a class of students, and he collapses. He was on the ground for several minutes, before recovering, getting to his feet, and asking how long he was out for. What did the students do while he was passed out? Tweet.
