Captain_Aizen13
Well the way it ended, he might as well have died. Regardless of his reasons for doing so, he comitted crimes which cenrtal 47 would have locked him away for years for. He would have spent hunreds of years in prison, better to die with dignity. XChikuX
No way Gin should die. Ever Anime needs its dose of psychotic characters AND FOR BLEACH its Gin.
XMADEX
he definitely was entertaining but he didn't accomplish anything, he killed nobody, he neither helped nor stopped Aizen from achieving his goals. The only time he actually did anything was during the whole save rukia arc where we thought he was the main villain.
keon06
no he didn't deserve to die at the end we found out why he did what he did shame
FinalFlash
He didn't care for anyone or anything to accomplish his goals. His ruthlessness inside SS is because i think he also blames the Gotei13 for what happened in their childhood. So he made the ultimate sacrifice for Rangiku which puts himself as one of the most determined character in the series.Do i think he deserves to die? Hell no, but it certainly makes this more believable.Rangiku and Gin would make the perfect couple since both care intensively for each other

aidanthegreat
I think it was fitting for him to die, even though it was sad.
Hawkester
I don't think so. He only acted the traitor so I could try and stop Aizen and protect Matsumoto

awdity
I would have asked a different question: "how did the writer contrive a situation where I hoped he would get killed in great pain and in the end I wish he had not died."  Has anyone mentioned the incident where Hirako's sister would have died if Unohana hadn'd pulled off something close to a miracle (according to my memory) EDIT: In case you're forgotten, I mention this because of course Gin stabbed her, completely out of the blue ("behind her back" kind of deal) , while she was facing off against Aizen.
