The choice of background and font color are very nice.

It seems that there is a lot of empty space though. I think you should make the text more than one line, and get rid of some of that. You could also use some cool brushes to fill in space. Also, a different font choice would make the signature more interesting. There is a thread here about brush and font downloads.

It's a great start. Just keep practicing and experimenting, you never know what you'll come up with next!

Thank you very much for the advice. but do the photoshop brushes works in GIMP?

I don't think so, but there are also downloads for GIMP brushes out there. I know DeviantArt has a ton. I used to use GIMP and I downloaded my brushes from there. A Google search would probably help find other places to download from.

EDIT:

I forgot to mention that tutorials are a great way to start. They show you tricks and tips that you can mix and match to make your own signatures. They also help for inspiration when you run out of new ideas.

i agree with poetic. atm, it just looks like you took a render, pasted on a BG which you blurred one time too many and left too much open space in.

you could improve it by say, decreasing the length of the sig, increasing the size of the font and perhaps, using a different font, one that bursts out more. also, you need to change the background cuz the render you're using can be combined with a large variety of backgrounds.

just experiment with it for a while and pick a style for yourself.

Actually, Photoshop brushes DO work in GIMP~ As long as the file is .abr (which is usually the case), then you're set to go ^.^

And yes, using brushes and different fonts will make things a lot better ^.^ Trust me, the more you practice the better you'll get, so just keep on practicing and trying new things!~ Looking up tutorials is always a good idea too~

Why thank me? lol, I didn't do much~

And dude888, if you need to know how to add the brushes and fonts, here's a tutorial I did a while back:

Need to add some new fonts or brushes to GIMP? Here's how to do it. (Click the image to enlarge it)

First, open the program and in the 'Edit' menu at the top, select 'Preferences'.

Adding2GIMP_pt1.PNG

In the preferences window, expand 'Folders' in the menu on the side by clicking the +.

Adding2GIMP_pt2.PNG

Depending on what you want to add, click on the word. In this tutorial, I will go with brushes.

Adding2GIMP_pt3.PNG

Click on the icon that looks like a sheet of paper, then click on the folder icon by the red/green orb and search for the folder where you keep all the files.

Adding2GIMP_pt4.PNG

When you find the folder with its contents, click ok.

Adding2GIMP_pt5.PNG

Next, check the box of the folder that you want to use (If not already checked) and click ok.

Adding2GIMP_pt6.PNG

Now all you need to do is restart GIMP and you're all set!~

Hope that helps!~ ^-^ (sorry for the big images lol)
