JimDaddy
I posed this in the IRC, but thought it might make for a good little discussion- What's more important Resolution or TS and Kara? Event though fansubs are somewhat rare now (proper, not HS) It always seems like a group will sub something, but only in 720. Meanwhile, I'm a proud flag waving member of the Glorious 1080p Bloat club, so it begs the question, for TV/Web stuff, what is more important to you? That a release has all the glory of 1080p and filling your screen (also making for very nice wallpapers) or dropping to 720p, but getting all that glorious typesetting and karaoke? Assuming no proper BD release is done, so this would be your archive. Edited October 16, 2018 by JimDaddy
KiyoshiStar
Haven't really archived anime much quite yet but for me -- Most important would be great typesetting/KFX. 720p is fine. I love good KFX. Also, I'd probably just take the subs and slap them on a 1080p release (Like Beatrice-Raws), so works for me, lol. If I couldn't have a 1080p release by no means and really just had the 720p though, that's fine too.

It's one thing to have a 1080p Blu-ray from a 720p native resolution production, but a 1080p web from a 720p native resolution production is kind of silly in most cases. A lot of times fansubs use superior quality AoD/Wakanim sourced Webrips that have a lot better quality than Crunchyroll, so their 720p is vastly more detailed and sharper, etc... than the 1080p HorribleSubs rip. gskumar
I prioritize resolution ,1080p works for me.Still I don't get the native resolution thing, but if an anime is 1080p BD surely it won't be that bad. KFX is must for me.I watch most of anime in dubs so having kfx is a must. Typesetting comes later.
