Pa1
Can anyone help me in setting up mpv.conf file, so that I can take screenshots in PNG format. I'm a noob when it comes to mpv. Thanks for your time.
P3-NI5
Out of curiosity, which OS are you using, and why mpv?
Pa1
I'm using windows 8.1. And after MPC announced their last release, I think mpv is a great alternative.
P3-NI5
1. I read that some people already contacted the lead guy about helping. 2. Even if they didn't, MPC-HC can stay relevant for a few years without updates. 3. There is always MPC-BE. tl;dr: jumping to MPV is a rash decision. Pa1
It's not that I'm jumping to mpv. I just want to learn to take screenshots in PNG format in mpv player.
bluegrapes
Wow the answers sucked. Just put these lines in your conf file. The second line is so your png screenshot won't be a huge filesize because there's no compression (the compression is lossless too). --screenshot-format=png --screenshot-png-compression=9

And about its directory. Where do I place it ? I placed it in "C:\Users\Pawan Shah\AppData\Roaming\mpv" and its not working.

If you downloaded a zip file and extracted it, just put mpv.conf in the same directory as mpv.exe Edited October 23, 2017 by bluegrapes
Zweeflol
here is mine mpv.config . IF you're going to use this be sure to change the "screenshot-directory=F:\000Libraries\Pictures\" to the folder you desire (default is on the desktop) On 10/22/2017 at 9:21 PM, Octirius said: 3. MPC (KCP/CCCP) tend to be slow in heavy signs files, hell in "[LNS] Sora no Method 05" @ 3:40 - 4:20 MPC straight up crashed because of this. 7 hours ago, Pa1 said: Do I have to add anything else besides this in conf file? Moodkiller
For anyone else who may come across this thread, the config file from here: https://github.com/Moodkiller/MPV-Made-Easy/blob/master/mpv/mpv.conf has the lines needed to take screenshots in .png in addition to saving the screenshots (with subtitles) to the root folder of the file you are currently playing.
