But when I connect the cable, windows detects it as headphone (my laptop has one jack which support both microphone and headphone)! But when I remove the cable from audio out then WIndows detects it as microphone! See the following: When I connect the audio in to laptop and removed the cable from audio out! and when I connect as audio in to laptop and connect the audio out Please help! Cesario
What model laptop is it? Will give me an idea of the config. Also, sounds like you jack is a 4 pole (same as on most phones), do you know what type of Aux cable you are using? It could simply be a shagged cable causing the conflict, that's fairly common 3 pole - stereoL/R + GND(also system) 4 pole - stereoL/R + GND(also system) + Mic Edited September 15, 2017 by Cesario
Moodkiller
If I understand correctly, you are wanting to get the audio onto your laptop? So you can record it or save it (capture) I assume? Might want to right click on Microphone > Properties > Listen tab and make sure "Listen to this device" is enabled.
