JohnFlower
Look for WD Black or Seagate Constellation.
ZeroPenguins
By 2017, SSDs will be so cheap that you might as well get one of that instead and grab large size HDDs to fill the rest of your bays that are midrange i.e. WD Reds. ZeroPenguins
WD Greens == WD Blues... If you got money for WD Blacks go for that (but no point unless you're rich, as SSDs are getting price competitive). WD Reds are fine to be used with PCs, they are made to run 24/7, just make sure you get the SATAIII interface one.
JohnFlower
Blacks are fast. Reds are slow. You don't get both performance and storage space for el cheapo. You need to pick one.
ZeroPenguins
Meh, I got no moneyz so Reds are a good alternative...

allan1973
4TB WD Greens for $145 right now. Just ordered one yesterday to replace an old 500GB drive. I've never had a problem streaming movies and anime from the one I got about a year ago. WD has served me well. I still stream TV Shows off a 1TB WD Green that's at least 6-7 years old. TotalSpazz
For mass storage like movies, anime, music, pictures you can't beat the cost of spinning drives get two and mirror them. For games & applications a ssd would be great but if the cost is to much you want a 7200rpm or a 10000rpm drive. Why the change in games & applications? Well they have active changing data not just data execution. Lats say you wanted to use a drive to convert videos, then you would want the faster or ssd diver because of the data speeds. Once you got the video in the format/codec your going to keep it in for ever then you'll be fine with storing it on a slower drive. What you are after is the middle games and storage at budget, I would say 7,200RPM hdd with 64MB of cache. As said above if you can swing it the WD black are made for SAN/NAS unit and hard good performance, reliability, and made to run like a workhorse 24/7. If the cost is to high go with a Seagate or Hitachi. Also note that HGST is owned by WD. If the cost of a 4TB 7200 RPM is just to much to swing right now try to go from something like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B99JU4S/ it's faster then a 5400 but not a real 7200rpm and may do the job for you.
