Mini Encode sizes??

StaticX

Recommended Posts

I've decided I'm going to do mini encodes instead of actual encodes (due to my upload speed and a lot of other factors) I just wanted to know what the average sizes for mini encodes are? e.g. 480p 720p & 1080p (Yes, I'm going to do 1080p)

I'm mostly asking for the average size a 1080p mini encode is, I know people are happy with 480p at 60-80mbs and for 720p it's usually around 120-130mbs, but if you've come across 1080p ones, I'd like to know what the average sizes are. I'll be using CRF at about 18-20 if that matters.

use crf 21-28 for mini-encodes. crf 21-24 for 480p, crf 22-26 for 720p and crf 24-28 for 1080p. I will suggest to go with max -

# 80mb for 480p SD sources in single audio, 100mb for 480p in SD sources dual audio and 115 mb for 576p in Dual audio

# 100-120mb for 720p single audio, 130-145 for 720p dual audio 720p

# 180-200mb for single audio 1080p and 200-230mb for 1080p dual audio.

Also, try to give 65+ kbps Audio. Vorbis/Nero ACC

but this changes from type of anime and source. And what you think is best for mini-encodes.

I hope this helps...

The encoding "code" release groups use is imaginary.

As long as it looks good and sounds good I don't think there is a proper way. If you can fit it in a smaller package and still make it look good all the better to you.

You did not specify what you were encoding.  2 hour Movies, 30min tv shows, 1 hour tv shows .... they would all have different sizes obviously.  I had a copy of "The Scene" encoding specifications that I was going to post  for you, but I dont remember where i saved it.
